Above is a current photo of 149 Main street the G.I. Pond house.  Below is an early photo showing the same house.  Note that the garage to the right appears to have been a "boarding livery" when this photo was taken.

155 Main Street is the site of the first "Meeting House" located in (west) Medway.

This is 165 Main Street.  Stone Mill on Chicken Brook.
It is on the site of the earliest mill in Medway.  Cephas Thayer dammed up Chicken Brook for water power.  Thayer made textile machinery here.  Shortly after 1900 the mill was used for textile processing.  Chicken Brook runs under this building and was used to supply power for those early mills.
 
1838: Cephas Thayer built Stone Mill.

1846: Cephas gave son Addison 50% interest in Stone Mill.

1853: Thayers Machine and Thread Shop at the Stone Mill.

1856: Cephas sold remaining 50% of the Stone Mill to son Addison.

1858: AP Thayers Thread Mill.

1876: AP Thayer Machine Shop.
 
1884:  West Medway Mallet Co.

1892:  West Medway Mallet Co.

1893:  Stone Mill sold to Lillian Hodgson.
 
1897:  Stone Mill – manufacturers of covered wire for picture frames.
 
1918:  Lillian sold the Stone mill to her brother Robert.  Robert served as bookkeeper of the Wm H Wilkinson Company at the corner of Main and Mechanic, a producer of oiling devices and as bookkeeper of the Stone Mill.  His brother James served as manager.
 
1924:  Stone Mill Company formed by Robert Hodgson, who acquired the first mortgage of $30,000.  It was a woolen mill.
 
1929:   Dedham County Deed:  1839:421
The Stone Mill company issued 150 8% Gold Bonds of $500.00 to obtain a mortgage of $75,000.  They were payable on Dec 31, 1834.  The president was James Hodgson, treasurer Robert J. Hodgson, and trustee and clerk Albert L Saunders.
 
1933:   Dedham County Deed:  2009:166
The Stone Mill was put up for auction by the Town of Medway for non-payment of 1931 taxes, a total of $666.50.  The auction was at the Tax Collectors office on September 21, 1933.

1934:   Dedham County Deed:  2029:143
The mortgage set up in 1929 was foreclosed.  (2021:120)    Trustees Albert L Saunders, Joseph E Perry, and treasurer Robert J Hodgson sold the Stone Mill Company to Walter O. Detry of Boston for $10,000.

1934:   Dedham County Deed:2029:147
Detry obtained a mortgage against the property for $90,000. from Myer H Slobodkin of Boston.  Slobodkin sold the mortgage to Bernard Goldfine of Boston.  
1934:   Dedham County Deed:  2059:525
Medway Mills Inc., Robert G Buchold, treasurer, bought the mill from Walter O Deltry.
   
1935:   Dedham County Deed:  2059:526
Medway Mills obtained a mortgage for $30,000. from Walter O Detry.
   
1935:   Dedham County Deed:  2059:529
Detry again sold the mortgage to B Goldfine.
 
1950’s:  Buckholdt Industries - carding and spinning wool          United Awl and Needle Company.
 
1976:  United Awl Co, subsidiary of USM Corporation Footwear Associated Products.
 
1995:  United Shoe Machinery.
