Aishia Muhammad Bint AbdurRasheed Muhammad is a dedicated Muslima,
wife and mother. Practicing Orthodox Islam according to the Authentic Quran and Sunnah as was understood by the
Righteous Predecessors. She has birthed all of her children naturally and is raising them to the best of her ability
in the state of Islam.
Aishia is a Traditional Homebirth Lay & Student Midwife, Professional
Doula, and Childbirth Educator.
Bint AbdurRasheed Muhammad started out volunteering and then working
as a doula; coaching women through the trials of labor. Seeing that Muslim women were (and still are) being treated unfairly
in the hospital system "even if they dont realize it", she says. Aishia saw the need & demand of the
sisters in her community, to become a midwife. Midwifery was a thing not commonly practiced amoungst the muslim women.
There were few and still are few midwives in the United States where Aishia was born and raised.
Aishia felt dispite the countless efforts to get training from the other
homebirth midwives in her area; which were very few and were not muslim... She would go on to self study. "Some of the
Greatest Minds throughout history were Self Educated" she thought, "why cant I do the same".
Aishia continues to study midwifery and attends workshops,
classes, conferences wherever able. Her theory is that "All Knowledge is Essential" and "True Knowledge is Indefinate".
"I know this is a risky business. But i am stepping out on Faith. And If no one ever stepped out on faith, where would we
be today? The Prophet Muhammad Salla llahu alayhi wa salaam stepped out on faith... Faith in Allah... Faith in the Book of
Allah... Faith in Allah's Wisdom. Who can question that?"
Aishia is an Advocate of Supporting Muslim Businesses, Breastfeeding, Natural
Living, Natural Healing, Natural Birthing and Self Empowerment. She is no stranger to hard work and community developement; assisting
anyone who may need her helping hand.
Aishia Muhammad founded the Muslima Midwives Association in hopes to bring Islamic
Health Care to all Muslim Women around the world.
