On this page , I'll describe myself in more detail,
as well as info on Learning to play "Bass ". I've been playing / performing on Bass for about 27yrs..4 of which i spent
in college studying with Carl Torello ..Principle Bassist for the Phila Orchestra (circa 1987). I
Teach 4-5-6 string bass...fretted and fretless (acoustic bass guitar, acoustic upright / orchestra bass). I
am currently accepting students.
My current performing schedual includes Performances with the Band i'm in..Albino Red, as well as some "Pick-up gigs"
with a "Jump-Blues Band called "James Day & The Fish Fry Band".

My approach to teaching is to teach student's all aspects
of the instrument.., theory (as applied to bass), the technique's necessary to play the Instrument confidently, as well
as the ability to "read music notation "( in bass clef)..so as to facilitate the student learning all aspects of the music
regardless of the genre..ie..pop, jazz, rock, blues etc .

What a job!

Former student and longtime friend Jamall Grier Playing his 6 string Yamaha Bass. Jamall currently resides in Ohio
with his lovely wife and children . He's in demand on the gospel scene as a session bassist and is playing in a local up and
coming Gospel group. I'm very proud of him and his work. More on his progress later. 8-)

Bass Lessons
Bass lesson are 45.00 a lesson (which may go over an hour).40.00 if you come to
my home. Students will learn all aspects of the Instrument including Technical ,Reading Bass Clef (notation), as it applies
to bass, Scales and Arpeggio(chords), Theory (as it applies to written bass parts ) , thus assuring that the student
is "well rounded " in the area of bass performance...in a group / band situation..as well as 'Solo Performances". The
goal is to perpare students to play with other musicians regardless of music styles. or genre's.
Students will be expected to purchase method books (of my choice) which will facilitate
learning at home. All that's needed is an instrument ,the desire to learn and practice and work ethic.( to continue studies).
