We the People declare this Treaty of Respect, as in 1907 a Woman and Mother declared Mother’s Day. She did not seek a Mayor, Governor, President, Queen nor King to declare it, so it is true, We the People declare this and God Bless our Native American Indians of the Western Hemisphere, We the People stand by, venerate and respect them.

We so desire that all organizations raise the awareness of this most important Treaty of Respect, some organizations are the Boy and Girl Scouts of America; National Geographic Society; all Religious and Social Establishments; all Civic organizations and all your Family, Friends and Associates. Please E-mail all today, do this as a service to our Native American Indians, our Root People.

This Honorable Banner was on display at the Harvest Supermarket in Cambridge Massachusetts.
It is about 30 feet long by about 5 feet high, it stands above the produce section.
It will be reassigned later next year to the Harvest Supermarket,
this assignment will be about a month and a half.We are asking for
one week assignments, twice a year in all Supermarkets throughout the Americas.
The Harvest did an action of Honor, all Supermarkets need to please do likewise.
Please forward this image or website to other Supermarkets
across  the Americas and ask the management to place a copy
above their Produce. Please inform the Supermarket Managements they can create their
own colorful and informative Banners.

Their Land was stolen, must their Identities be stolen as well?

 Thank You!

Dear People of Concern,

My name is Chris Durkin of the Harvest Coop Supermarket located in Cambridge Massachusetts. We are a major presence in the Supermarket world of greater Boston; we also have a great Supermarket in Jamaica Plain. We were the forerunners of cigarette free Supermarkets. We have high standards for service and products; we aim to be here for the people.

To the best of my knowledge, we were the first ones to place a Banner to honor our Native American Indian Farmers of the Past, Present and Future. We believe they the Native American Indian Farmers make a tremendous connection in our Western Hemisphere society, we can honestly state they are our Root People, Our Common Denominator, Our People.

We placed the colorful Banner image above our Produce section; this is the perfect setting because if you look at www.CanMakeIt.org you will see on the front page the photo image of the Banner. This Banner is a work of confetti to the eyes, a true work of Art as well as Education. I highly recommend that all Markets and Schools place a Banner to reveal a Treaty of Respect for our Native People.

Please join me in this adventure of Honor and Respect to create a Treasury of cultural wonders for our Children and their Children.

Sincerely, Chris Durkin

In so doing we will pledge to do our best to fulfill the seven major programs, the Treaty of Respect.

Our Proclamation

WHEREAS:

Native Americans of these United States in particular and the Western Hemisphere in general, have suffered humiliations ranging from expropriation of their ancestral lands, forced education in Western thought, and confinement, in the case of the United States to reservations which, given the high levels of alcoholism, drug abuse, high unemployment, and social ills have become killing fields for the dreams of many native Americans who, historically, were self sufficient stewards of the earth, air, water, flora, and fauna; and

WHEREAS:

The injuries and insults to which Native Peoples in the United States in particular and the Western Hemisphere in general have been subjected, by this, has decimated the native population, alienated them from a world view and a way of living that was harmonious with nature; and

Native peoples in these United States and in the Western Hemisphere deserve a Treaty of Respect that will affirm their contributions to the United States as we know it, educate our community in general and our youth in particular about the tragedy and the triumphs of native Americans, so as to ensure that what happened to native Americans would never again be allowed to happen in the United States in particular and in the Western Hemisphere in general; and

WHEREAS:

A new Treaty of Respect, which will usher-in a new era of cordial relations between Americans of European, Asian, and African Ancestry, and our native American brothers and sisters, provide a vehicle for citizens of the United States and the Western Hemisphere to atone for the benefits they have derived from the oppression and subjugation of the Native population.

A Western Hemispherical Holiday weekend has been declared to combat the stereotype of Native American inferiority propagated by western cultures through movies and literature, educational banners highlighting the contributions of Native Americans to American society and way of life, will be displayed seasonally or at least bi-annually by local businesses and schools!

These educational banners will high light Native Americans aspects, as to restore identity to our Native Root People for all they did as great Stewards of the Lands in the Americas; in the Arts, Music, Philosophy; to restore to them true dignity.

Furthermore, we must state and say, we see and honor our Root Peoples of the Western Hemisphere with recognition with a Works of Art program,

And as Farmers and Philosophers, as the originators of Tomato sauce, Potatoes, all Peppers, all Squashes, all Corns, Chocolate and Vanilla. By this fact we honor them with the Title, Stewards of the Americas!
