Anthony E. Gallo is a playwright. screenwriter, librettist, and essayist whose fourteen copyrighted, published, work shopped, and produced dramas include Margherita, Eugenio, Better than the Best, Vandergrift!, Lincoln and God, Charleston Revisited, The Botticelli Cruise, Paul, and , the Dynastic Trilogy(The Agony of David, The Last Days of King Solomon, and The Tragedy of King Saul). In addition, the screenplay Charleston Revisited and two folk opera librettos Lincoln and God and David were copyrighted in 2012-2013.

 

His portfolio of dramas, screenplays, essays and librettos consists of over sixty works. His plays have been performed 108 times, including ten productions and  ninety-eight formal staged readings.

 

Mr .Gallo is also a librettist and lyricist. Currently he is working on six musicals derived from his stage plays. He is collaborating with Maryland composer John Ward on the folk operas Lincoln and God and David. Other librettos in process include Charleston Revisited, The Botticelli Cruise, Solomon, Eugenio, Margherita, and Vandergrift.

 

Four Essays by Anthony E. Gallo will be published this fall. . The essays include: Legacy of the First Three Jewish Kings, Lincoln as Our Most Religious President, Does God’s Mind Change, and Sins of the Biblical Leaders.

 

Seven of his plays are available from Amazon including Eugenio, Margherita, The Agony of David, The Last Days of King Solomon, Vandergrift!, Lincoln and God, and Paul. Seven Judeo-Christian Dramas with Forward by Lenny Levy was released in 2011 by Browns Court Publishing Company

 

 

On November 16, 2011, Mr. Gallo signed a contract with Browne-Nederlander Productions LLC for the production of Margherita in New York City. The show is in its planning stages with active participation by Stanley Browne, Robert Nederlander, Jr., David Groelinger, and Anthony E. Gallo.

 

 

Mr. Gallo’s works have been performed nearly one hundred ten times, including ten productions and about a hundred staged readings. These plays have been presented at the following venues:

In addition, plans are being made to re shoot a revised version Charleston Revisited, a motion picture produced by the Eastern Market Studios. The first version of this motion picture was shown at the Artomatic Film Festival in Arlington, Virginia in June 2012
