Beautiful Day for a Morning Cruise

This morning the family and I set out to check out some cruise-ins down south. last night I spent hours cleaning the 70 Chevelle for the trip and tried to locate that damn header leak. Anyway, we were on the road by 7:15 am headed for Derwood Md. which is near Gaithersburg off of I-270. We were the first people ther at 8:30am, so we enjoyed a nice breakfast at Mickey D's, before long a few cruisers showed up, In all I'd say there were about 9 cars there when we left at 10:30. The real crowds show up around 11:00-1:00. We found out that the bigger show was in Burtonsville off 198 near rt 29. So we back tracked across Rt 28 to 198 to burtonsville, as it turns out, they start at 7:00am and start leaving by 10:30, so we missed alot of the cars there. And there was a huge parking lot full of cars! Many had left but there were at leat 60 cars still there when we arrived. The pictures posted to the right of this article are from those cruises. The first 6 are from Gaithersburg the rest are from burtonsville (aka The Church of the Holy Donut). If you drive your car I would higly recommend the trip! There were some incredible rides down there! Its always fun to see new stuff! JBB

Chilly Cruise'n

As expected we only had about 60 caras show up for Fridays cruise. Our DJ was stuck at work , but he busted ass and was there to be sure we had "tuneage"? Thanks Tom. We had just enough people to give out 1 $50 Lowes gift card. It was won by Jake Schroll....again! I'm Sorry Rick, hopefully you will win one before you head off to Arizona!

The night ended early as it gets so dark and cold so quick this time of year. We will again try to get out next friday if the weather holds out.

Dont forget I am still looking for garages to visit this winter after breakfast! i am going to Rockville in the morning (Sunday f anybody wants to come along , call me 410-627-0027 see ya

FRIDAY LOOKS GOOD!

Well fellow cruisers, it may be only 52 degrees but at least the sun will be out friday. I hope not all of you have mothballed your cars! I look forward to seeing a bunch of you tomorrow! if Sunday is nice i might head down to Rockville for their morning cruise.

Also, is anybody going to Shrewsbury on Saturday? They are doing a food drive for York county food bank. take some canned goods if you are going. If I'm not working I will be going! See ya Jbb

THANK YOU!

Well Its not often I am at a loss for words, but Friday night something happen that had me by the throat. Apparently on Labor day weekend while my family and I were away camping Larry & Sandy Wheeler along with Tom Patterson decided to take a collection for Betsy and myself. I was presented with a Plaque, a Lowes Gift Card and $150 in cash. The plaque and the money was a thank you from all those cruisers who donated for the work we do to make our Cruise a safe and enjoyable event. I have never ever recieved anything like this in my life. I never expected anyone to even care. I greatly appreciate it. It makes all the hard work easier, knowing there are so many people that actually care. If you were there you know how much it meant to me. (blubbering idiot). Oddly enough while everyone was looking for me to give me the Plaque I was indise the store trying to negotiate the manager into donating another air compressor to give away to a cruiser. By the way I met him today (Monday) and we will be doing a giveaway of a very large item in the spring, when we have alot more cruisers present.

I'm not sure if this past frdiay was our last cruise or not. I am going to leave it up to the weather gods. If we get good weather, we will be there. I will be starting our Lowes Cruiser breakfast again in mid December. Please don't forget we need people to step-up and allow us to check out your garage. Or if you know of a custom garage or shop that wouldn't mind having us, please let me know!

VOLUNTARY CRUISE DONATION

This donation will pay our DJ for his services and the rest of the money will be split into $50.00 increments and given back to the cruisers by way of a Lowe's Gift Card being drawn each night. The more people who show the more we have to give. If you choose to not donate please tell our helpers, "I choose NOT to participate" and you may enter and enjoy our cruise as always. If this is the way you choose, you will not be eligible for any drawings or free items supplied by Lowe's or any other source.
