When you first lay
your eyes on a Scottish Fold, you cannot help falling in love with them. And like most, I had to have one. When I started
my breeding program, I brought Sadie, an American Shorthair into my home and bred her to Kitjim's Broadway Biff (Kitty Angel),
a Scottish Fold. I was blessed with a litter of five girls, four of which were folded. Not only were they beautiful, but I
soon found out how intelligent there are. I later added Sweetum's (Junerose Wilkerson), Odne (Diane) to our family. I hope
you enjoy the following information that has been collected over the years by a number of wonderful people. The
first Scottish Folds, on record, were found in 1961 in the Tayside Region of Scotland. The McRaes' had a "barn cat" that had
a litter of kittens, two of which had "Lop Ears" (they were called that until 1966). A neighbor, William Ross, told his wife
Mary of the kittens. The Ross' asked the McRaes' for a lop eared kitten, should another one be born. In 1963 the Ross'
became the proud owners of Snooks who became the beginning lineage of the Scottish Folds that we know today. The Folds then
came to the United States in 1968 and have since become known World-Wide, not only because of their "owl-like" or "baby seal"
looks, but for their intelligence, their marvelous personalities and dog-like devotion to their owners. Folds are not only
love giving but are love demanding. |

The Scottish Fold is an undemanding cat. A warm home,
clean environment, proper nutrition, and generous doses of love are its only requirements.
