Race #2 for the 2012 Masters MX series is now in the books, and it was just as much a "wow" as our first event. Mark and Shelly Carlton gave us a hot track, a warm welcome, and a cool day all at the same time.  Not only that, they worked it out so that every one of those occasional dark clouds passed right over us with no more than a sprinkle...a feat they've accomplished now for several races over several years. We should all be impressed! More importantly, keep Rocket in mind when you're looking at your weekend calendar for places to practice. Cool place, cool people.

Now, on to the post-race announcements:
  • My thanks go out to all of you who came out today for making the event successful. We had 137 entries across the classes, which is a good turnout (and better than last year) for a stand-alone event.
  • Standings as of our Rocket race are listed below.
  • If you don't think your scores are accurate, please send an email and I'll research.
  • If you don't see a number and bike brand next to your name, or I've mangled your name somehow, send me an email update and I'll plug it in.
  • If you've joined the series and didn't get this info via email, it's because I don't have a good email address for you.    Send me one to fix that.
Parting Thought: At every race, I usually have several people comment on how much they enjoy our series. That's obviously something I like to hear, and probably 8 out of 10 of those comments include a thought about how great the people are who participate. I like riding and racing as much as anybody, but I have to agree that it jumps from good to great when friends are part of the deal. If you know the people in your classes already, I'm sure you feel the same way. If you don't yet know those you race with, look for them in the pits and get to know them....then you'll enjoy the optimum experience of racing with your friends too.

Next race: Saturday, June 30 at Tomahawk !

There will be 1 raceday drop in 2012. It will not be by-moto, instead intended to help those who just can't make one of the dates to stay competitive in the series.

Masters MX was started in 2007 to provide races that give us more time on the track and less time at the track.    Beginner, Women, and 2-stroke classes have been added for 2012, so spread the word...
