"The Blues harp can make you weep and make you smile, make you cry and jump for joy. It can make you feel that groan
way down in your gut and it can make you turn into a pile of mush. It can tame a beast or raise the devil. Ain't many intruments
that can represent the human soul like the blues harp"
Originally from Connecticut, Paul grew up in a home where blues, oldies, and classic rock were always playing on the
stereos, record players and the 8 track players. He was influenced by all of the great "Chicago" blues harp players as
a child and had wanted to play the harp since he was young. At the age of 11 his father gave him his first harmonica. It was
a chance for a young boy to try to emulate his idols, it opened up a world of wonder, enjoyment, and possibilities. From there
his love for the music continued to grow. After honing his skills by playing accompaniment in an accoustic trio and making
many friends by playing at tons of the Providence area and northern Rhode Island Blues Jams, he and the guys finally
got together to create the band 'A WEEK AGO SATURDAY' (He is one of the original members and founders). Since Paul also
shares the role as lead singer, you'll see that his Heart and soul are evident in every word he sings and every
time a harmonica touches his lips.

Paul Jarry's Gear
Paul plays Hohner Marine Band, Special 20 and Blues Harp harmonicas. He often keeps
Hohner Big River Harps for backup. You can sometimes see him play through an original 1964 Fender Bassman 50 watt tube
amp with a 2X10 inch speaker cabinet or, more often, either an Epiphone Valve Junior tube amp with a 1X10 cabinet
or a classic 1972 Fender Champ combo tube amp amplified through the P.A. system. Paul will usually have more than
one amp on stage. Paul plays harp through a vintage 1960's Electro-voice microphone or a shure 520 "GREEN BULLET". Paul also
uses backup Purcussion.
