The words of the beloved song Amazing Grace say,
"Through many dangers, toils and snares, I have already come
'Twas grace that brought me safe thus far and grace will lead me home."
Divorce, cancer, singleness, heartache
and trials have been a part of my life. The first time I walked through the valley was when my mother died from a long
bout of cancer when I was a senior in high school. This was a very difficult time in my life. However, I found
God's grace sufficient to see me through.
Next, I married right out of high school and 7 years later went through another valley when my husband left me and my life
seemed shattered.
Ten years later, I was diagnosed with melanoma cancer and I faced a life-threatening experience where I found God's
grace again sufficient to see me through.
Alone with no family support, I found God was sufficient.
I have found Him to be my Jehovah-Jireh, my Provider of all I need. Time and time again, God has used the valley and
desert experiences in my life to reveal His great love for me. I have found I can truly "Dance in the Desert" and praise
Him through the valley.
God is the poet. I'm just His scribe. As He speaks through me, may His words encourage
and provide hope through your life's journey.
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in
him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit" (Ro. 15:13).
