The Pathway to Blessings

“Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the desert these forty years to humble you and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands.  He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord” (Deuteronomy 8:2-3, NIV).

The Pathway to Blessings

The pathway to God’s blessings

Often leads through barren land.

It winds and turns through wilderness

As it crosses desert sand.

God leads where He can tests us

And will teach us to trust Him,

To see if we’ll still follow Him

When our way is dark and grim.

He'll lead us where we’ll hunger,

Then by His hand He’ll provide;

He’ll rain manna down from Heaven

So our hunger's satisfied.

He’s teaching us He’s faithful

Through each hardship that we face

To put our faith and trust in Him

To supply abundant grace.

Our journey is not easy,

But for us God knows what’s best.

When we’ve made it through our desert

We will find His promised rest.
