The Miracle of Faith
Upon
dry land at God’s command
To
preserve his family
By
faith Noah built a great ark,
For
a flood God said he’d see.
Amidst
the jeers and taunts of man,
He
persistently maintained
A
steadfast hope his home would float,
Then
down from Heaven it rained.
By
faith Abraham left his home,
For
God had said, “Now, go.
I
have a promised land for you,
And
the way for you I’ll show.”
In
complete abandonment
He
then left at God’s command.
By
faith he saw what was to be,
And
he claimed his promised land.
By
faith Moses left luxury
And
a promised life of ease
There
to suffer with God’s people,
For
his God he chose to please.
By
faith he led God’s children through
A
parted uncrossable sea,
Guiding
them through the wilderness
Where
they a nation would be.
By
faith the walls of Jericho
Crumbled
unto the ground.
Like
softened clay they fell that day
As
God’s army marched around.
The
assurance of things hoped for,
The
promise of things unseen;
Faith
is trusting in God’s Word
Knowing
He’ll intervene.
The
miracle of Godly faith
Is
given to all who claim
The
power He avails to us
When
we profess His name.
