The 1st Class in the Original Classroom

The first class of The Spot Senior Computer Course was held on April 13, 2006. It was held in the original classroom with the PC table lined up along the longest wall in the room. There were 6 students who were seated at the PC with their backs to the instructor. The white board was on the wall perpendicular to the "PC wall". The students had to turn 90 degrees to see the white board. One student was at a right angle to the other students with his/her back to the white board and the instructor. Needless to say this was not an ideal setup. There were only six PCs.

The only instructor aid was a small while board attached to wall to the left of the students. There was no computer or projector for the instructor to use. In spite of that, three classes were held in the original classroom, the last class ending on November 16, 2006. The total number of students trained in the room was 16.

The first class in the new Computer Lab was held on March 6, 2007. It was a basic class and had 8 ready and willing students. It was a lot easier to teach the class with the help of a new laptop computer and a multi-media projector. Because we needed to project a large image we just used the front wall instead of trying to find a large screen. It would have been nice if the wall was white, but it worked out OK.
