Why
am I running for Sheriff of Centre County?
I
resigned my appointment on March 1, 2007. I did not retire; I resigned because
the incumbent Sheriff is running for his 5th term.
Many
county offices and law enforcement agencies have expressed dissatisfaction because of lack involvement and
teamwork with the current Sheriff. I have also observed and agree there is an urgent need for a change.
My
family and I are risking a lot for the basic principle that reform is needed because citizens of Centre County deserve a working, dedicated,
involved Sheriff, providing leadership by example by taking a hands on approach. It’s
just that important to us, and I hope it’s important to you also.
I
have the Experience, a plan for Accountable Reforms and attitude of Service needed to bring change to the Office of Sheriff.
I
believe the current administration has lost sight of the office as is apparent by the recent news articles in the Centre Daily
Times. Although the outcome of the incident in Mill Hall would not have had another
outcome, the fact remains that important documentation was not readily available. This was information that other law enforcement
agencies needed for their investigation.
Part
of my Accountable Reforms include re-organizing the office staff to improve efficiency and productivity; as there are currently over 1,100 warrants that need to be served.
