I studied astrology during the mid eighties up until
the mid nineties. The twelve astrological signs in all are divided into two groups, masculine and feminine. Six of the signs
are masculine, and six of the signs are feminine and that is known as the signs duality. A masculine sign is directed and
energetic. A feminine sign is receptive and magnetic. Take note that a masculine sign does not mean positive and forceful
anymore than a feminine sign means negative and weak. The masculine signs are defined as outer-directed and strong through
action, and the feminine signs are self-contained and strong through inner reserves.
I was born under the zodiacal sign Taurus. Taurus is
a feminine earth sign ruled by the planet Venus, the Roman Goddess of love and beauty, pleasure, emotions, and the arts.
And Venus has a definite influence that influence that inclines toward exceptional creative exceptional creative ability,
luxury and love itself. Taurus is also a fixed sign, meaning it is not fond of change.
Taurus is the sign of money and property, and Taurus represents material possessions.
The symbol of Taurus is the bull and people who are born under this sign tend to be resistant to change, down to earth,
strong, stubborn, plodding, determined, stable, practical, patient, affectionate, and they can be both fierce and gentle.
Their most likeable trait is dependability. And although most Taurus people are slow to anger, once they are provoked
their tempers are very violent.
All twelve signs of the zodiac have terms that subdivide
each sign. They are called Decanates and Cusps. The subdivisions further define and emphasize certain qualities and character
traits pertaining to the signs. Each astrological sign is divided into three parts and each part is called a decanate or a
decan. The decanate of a sign does not change the basic characteristics of that sign, but it does refine and individualize
the signs general characteristics. If a person is born in the first decanate of cancer, for instance, does not change
the fact that they are a cancerian, it just indicates that they have somewhat different and special characteristics from those
cancerians born in the second and third decanate.
When those are born on the cusps their birth is at
or ( three days before ) near the beginning or end of an astrological sign. If one is cusp-born, they are under the influence
of both signs. Nevertheless, one sign is always a stronger influence.
I myself was born in the third decanate of Taurus and
those with my particular characteristics possess an active mind and are keenly observant. We confront a difficulty rather
than evade and worry about it, and we deal with our problems by thoroughly analyzing them before taking action. We have strong
deep feelings and are not wishy-washy about letting others know where we stand. We are not easily deterred once we are set
on a goal so people will often know that we are indeed stable and reliable. To sum it all up, we have extreme strength of
character.
