The Camryn Surman Fund

On January 13, 2008, Eric and Laura Surman, along with their 2 sons, were ecstatic to welcome a beautiful, healthy baby girl into their family.  Unfortunately, on July 20, 2009, the Surman Family experienced an unspeakable tragedy in their own home.  After their typical morning routine, Laura discovered a mother’s worst nightmare.  She found her precious baby girl unresponsive after suffering a hypoxic brain injury.

After six weeks in the Pediatric ICU at Children’s Hospital of  Pittsburgh, Camryn is now at the Children’s Institute struggling to recover from this horrible accident.  During this time, Camryn has fought to reach some vital milestones; however, with those successes have come many setbacks that have put her future in an unclear state.

In Laura’s own words she stated, “Since that night it has been a long journey of watching a snail climb a mountain. We have no idea where this journey is taking Camryn or us for that matter but we aren’t giving up on her and our family. She may be a different Camryn at the top of this mountain but she is our precious God given gift and we will be her biggest cheerleaders.”

Our mission for this fund is to help assist in the long-term care of Camryn Surman.  It is our hope that through fundraisers and generosity like yours, we will be able to help eliminate some of the financial burden for this family.  Therefore, we are asking for the participation and support of concerned people like you by purchasing a raffle ticket or making any amount of donation to the Camryn Surman Fund.
