The following is a special message from our club president, sent in an email on November 18, 2007 after our Snowflake
Brunch at Belmont Lake.
Hello all L. I. Mopar Club members !!!! We had a great time for our snowflake gathering today
at Belmont Lake State Park in Babylon. A great time was had by all that attended as we had some coffee, doughnuts,
hot cider and some great Mopar car talk. Of course takin the cars out is always a blast as they breath so
much better with the cooler temps.
There was no rain and the temps were not that bad. As our last club meet of the season, ( mmmm... I
still think there is one more 70 degree day hiding in there), it was a great way to rap up the second year
of our club.... and what a year it was. We had many events every month and we plan to keep up the pace into next year. All
for the low, low price of ZERO.
A very special thanks to our club Secretary Ed who has been the fuel that has kept this club running,
His tireless efforts have made the club what it is today. I can't forget to send out great thanks to Andy
for his many hours spent updating the web site with the photo collages and monthly calendars. Also club V.P. Tony and
Delia for the great bagel breakfast they supplied at Tanner Park along with member Joe for supplying a great
lunch at the Merrick Train Station. Also our new entertainment Director Gary for the work on the
Park locations along with a possible Charter Boat cruise next year.
We would like to do some Winter type events after the Holidays. This being a club By the People and For the People....
we ask for everyone's help. We have a great VCR tape collection of some old Mopar Movies, commercials etc. Anyone have
access to a Hall with a large projection type TV ? Maybe a Barrett Jackson night, some Bowling or Dinner
nights. Any other ideas ? Remember this is a club where we value everyone's input.
I would also like to take this opportunity to wish all club members a Great Holiday Season
!!
P.S. Smoke em if Ya got em !!!
