Long Island Mopar's Members,
What an amazing third year we had !!!! We just keep growing . We
are now over 360 members and probably one of .... if not the largest car club on Long Island and still free.
I would like to start off by thanking Club Secretary Ed once again for his
outstanding efforts and commitment
in keeping the club rolling along with keeping everyone informed. VP Tony for the Winery location again
out east which was a great physical cruise. New entertainment Director Chris for
getting 3 killer meets at " Hot Rod "
Burger King along with a 40 plus
car showing we held at Grand Prix Chrysler. He already has another
Chrysler Dealer
and Hooters planned for next year !!! ( not too shabby
for the new kid on the block ).
I would of course like to thank all of you who came out ( with stupid gas prices ) and made the meets a success. I cannot
say enough about the passionate and easy going people that the club has brought together.
As usual a big thanks to member's Andy ( the website dude ) for his hours updating the site with so many cool
event pics along with Chris who is
looking into a new club website. Also a big thanks to member Joe who
supplied
a great lunch at Merrick Train Station and provided us a great show leaving Grand Prix ( he sacrificed a motor mount
for our entertainment ). Also club member Tony for not 1 but 2 BBQ's he supplied in front of his South bay
liquor Store in Lindenhurst.
We had such a wide variety of events and will continue to do so. My goals for the club are simple ... different
locations all season and recruit as many members as possible. More members equates to killer turnouts. Also we would like
to do more in the way of the waaay cool physical cruises ( like the 55 quick minutes to the Winery ), more meets further east
and more benefit shows as we did at Pastor Paul's. Boredom is not something I am too fond of.
We will again this winter meet at the West Babylon Library and be open to everyone's ideas, questions and comments.
This will always be a club by the people and for the people and we encourage everyone to take the ball and run with
it. Specifically find new location's for club meets and let us know. We will do the rest. We on the board
are only the caretaker's since it everyone's club. We also encourage everyone to help with recruiting new members by
planting club flyers on Mopars at local cruise nights.
We will again try to arrange a dinner/movie night this winter. We had a blast with a great dinner, watching
the old Mopar Commercials for the "new" Mopar's along with the classic Movie Vanishing Point . A few of us said
we would watch about an hour and we found ourselves glued to the very end.
I would also like to take this opportunity
to wish every one a Happy and Healthy
New Year.
