The LED tail light conversions were designed for 1971 through 1974, Pre-L and L-Model Pantera tail light housings. The LED arrays consist of high performance industrial grade LED's, as much as 20 times the optical power of the LEDs used in universal bulb base replacement types. The electronics on each LED panel controls the current to the LEDs and converts the electrical signals from the Pantera wiring harness to imitate the incandescent lamp function. The orginal incandescent lamps are removed and the panels are inserted in the reflector pockets of the housing. In this design the light is diffused filling the lens, generating both straight and wide angle light emission. This is superior to the aftermarket bulb replacement LED's which only emit light from a central location. The LED arrays are designed for each section of the taillight and are available by function and color. The brake sections are always red, the turn signal sections can be red or ambler. The LED Arrays are modular by design and can be ordered in any combination. The electronics are different between the brake section and turn signal section by function, so the LED Arrays must be used in the proper section. The amber or red turn signal functions as a 1157 incandescent lamp with the exception when the Reverse light is "on" both turn signals flash or strobe 3 times a second in order to alert others. If this feature is not desired then it is disabled by not connecting (1) wire.

Note that the LED turn signals require electronic flashers to operate properly, the original Pantera flasher will not operate properly. Both standard and Group4 LED Array's are not avaliable for the reverse light section of the lenses.
