The Electronic Headlight Motor Controller
solves the problem of inconsistent headlight motor operation without replacing an out-dated relay. The
Controller sequences the motor current and headlight current by activating the motor up, then activate the
headlights, and the reverse sequence, headlights off, then activating the motor down. This sequence reduces
the operational current by 50% and provides reliable motor operation without increasing the wire size. Since there
is a 50% reduction in total current, an increase in lift motor speed can be realized due to higher available
voltage. The Electronic Headlight Motor Controller minimizes the current through headlight switch and steering column
dimmer switch stopping switch contact deterioration and future switch replacement. The Controller is designed for 1971 through
1974 Panteras, to control all external lighting as well as the headlight motor. The original relay wires can be connected
directly to the Controller without modification and additional wires are added to the headlight switch and fuse connections.
None of the original wiring needs to be cut, only disconnected, re-routed and connected to the Controller. The Controller
does not allow the lights to be on if the ignition key is in the off position, this allows use of the parking lights for daytime
use without the concern of leaving the headlight switch on.
