Kira Fredenburgh holds a degree in Historic Preservation from Mary Washington College. She was
appointed to the Spotsylvania County Historic Preservation Commission in 2006.

Donna Kraus-Chasen is a local preservationist best known for her ongoing efforts to preserve Idlewild,
an American Gothic Revival mansion recently damaged by fire. She is also a member of the Fredericksburg Architectural
Review Board and a free lance writer most often seen in the FLS Town & County.

Harriet Schumann is a graduate of Seton Hall University. She is a former educator and has spent the
last twenty years as a Realtor in Northern Virginia. She has been designated by the National Trust for Historic Preservation
to sell historic properties.

Communications and Media Chair
Donald Schumann was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Fairfax County. He
is retired from 33 years of public service with the Federal Government. Don is a private pilot and a Major in the Civil Air Patrol.

Pat Sherwood is an Architectural Historian holding a degree from the University of Virginia.

Melinda Normand is a charter member of the Spotsylvania Preservation Foundation and historic home
owner. Melinda brings history and invaluable knowledge to the organization.

We would like to welcome Joyce Ackerman to the Board. As a historic home owner and
lifetime resident of Spotsylvania County, Joyce brings a wealth of knowledge of people and the area. You can
find her oral history in the Central Regional Rappahanock Library.
