Believe

Believe that you're special, through the hurt and the pain,
for sunshine will come, after the rain.

Hold on to your dreams, let them not die,
and live not in torment by questioning why.

The answers are somewhere and sometimes unkind,
with so many reasons you will never find.

Be true to yourself, don't be what you're not,
for often you'll find, you're all that you've got.

Don't become battered by games people play
and don't take to heart what others may say.

You've got so much life and so much to give,
go out and enjoy it, go out there and live!

Though heartaches are many and tears they will flow,
the more that you live the more you will grow.

There are many that love you, don't ever forget,
let the past be a lesson you do not regret.

The Broken Badge

He put on the blue late one cold winter night,

His badge upon his chest polished so bright,

Though his badge was old it shined like new,

For it was much loved by this man in blue.

His badge was his promise to all who came his way,

“I’m here to serve you,” it seemed to say,

A silver badge with edges straight and true,

Just like the heart of this man in blue.

He didn’t see the gun that took his life,

He slipped away crying out for his wife,

His broken badge clung bravely to his chest,

A shattered witness to his last breath.

His badge once shiny, bright, and new,

Now lies broken, bent, and blue,

A silver badge, now broken in two,

Just like the hearts, of his brothers in blue.

Each May, we reflect on those who have died in the line of duty during National Police Week. Although only one week of the year is set aside for this special remembrance, the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice are fresh in our thoughts and prayers every day. We remember the fallen men and women fondly, and each has left a legacy of bravery and honor with the law enforcement community. We also must remember and comfort their families, who were left with irreplaceable losses in their lives.

Funeral Ritual

My Brothers and Sisters, we have all sworn to perform our duties, impartially and without hesitation or fear. Our present duty, and though it be painful, is to pay a just and deserving tribute of honor to a Brother who has embarked upon that lone journey which leads through the valley of the great shadow into the sunlight of perpetual day and lasting tranquility.

The feeble but heart-felt words of this simple ritual can do little more than remind us of the duty which we owe to our departed friend and colleague.

As he was ever faithful to us in the full performance of his task and the protection of those who slept, so let us be, my Brothers and Sisters, faithful to him, ever zealous to protect and cherish the memory of his good deeds, forgetting his imperfections, and emblazoning his accomplishments.

As time runs on, in sun and shade, may we bear with us ever-pleasant memories of a hallowed friendship, a kindly feeling, and a deep respect for all our Brother stood for. As an indication of our regard and affection, let us pause and, in silent meditation, typify what mere words cannot express. (Pause)

Let us pray:

Almighty God, be with us on this occasion. Strengthen us in a firm resolve to do right, to serve well, to be faithful to our tasks, to our community, and to our Brothers. Make us appreciative of the opportunities to do good and to lend a helping hand. Inspire us with a new devotion to fulfill the duties, which are entrusted to our keeping. May those who mourn be comforted in this sad hour, and may they be strengthened by the knowledge of Thy presence and Thy omnipotence.

May we be constantly reminded in the hours of the night, as well as in the brightness of the day, of Thy everlasting love and kindness, and may Thou guide us through this uncharted valley and bring us at last to the shore of the eternal stream, our ranks unbroken, to dwell with Thee forever more. We ask this humbly through Thy redeeming grace and power. Amen.

Policeman's Funeral

I went to a Police Officer's funeral this morning,
My emotions were high and all were mourning
The bagpipes played Amazing Grace,
The loss of this Officer was on my face

With tears in my eye's and a heavy heart,
It was the sound of Taps that tore me apart
To see the Honor Guard fire their guns,
This Officer now guards the heavens and sun

My memories go to the times we had,
These I enjoy but oh I feel sad
I'm sad for the family most of all,
With grief in their hearts they still stand tall

Today we buried one of our own,
Tomorrow we'll visit the gravesides stone
This Officer answers roll calls from above,
As the Guardian of Paradise with all it's love

The Officer has stood the final inspection,
Judged by God on their life's reflection
Many times it took more to preserve,
An Officer's motto "To Protect and Serve".

~SAFELY HOME~

I am home in Heaven, dear ones;

Oh, so happy and so bright!

There is perfect joy and beauty  In this everlasting light.

All the pain and grief is over, every restless tossing passed;

I am now at peace forever, Safely home in Heaven at last.

Did you wonder I so calmly trod the valley of the shade?

Oh! but Jesus' love illumined every dark and fearful glade.

And He came Himself to meet me In that way so hard to tread; And with Jesus' arm to lean on, Could I have one doubt or dread?

Then you must not grieve so sorely, For I love you dearly still: Try to look beyond earth's shadows, Pray to trust our Father's Will.

There is work still waiting for you, So you must not idly stand; Do it now, while life remaineth You shall rest in Jesus' land.

When that work is all completed, He will gently call you Home; Oh, the rapture of that meeting,

Oh, the joy to see you come!

President George W. Bush speaking durring National Police Week 2006

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy designated May 15th as National Peace Officers Memorial Day, and this year's services at the U.S. Capitol marked the 25th anniversary of the Peace Officers Memorial Day Service, hosted by the Fraternal Order of Police and the Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliary. President George W. Bush recognized the service and sacrifice of the nation's fallen law enforcement officers and spoke directly with survivors.

Their Service Honored the Department

A TRUE HERO

May you rest in peace.......

I SALUTE YOU

My prayers are with you, your family, friends and colleagues.

I THANK YOU for your service

You did not lose your life, You gave it in service to others.

A true Hero indeed.........

BALTIMORE'S ROLL CALL OF HEROES

Faces put to the cold names on stone walls, Police Officers, no different than you, guys that just went to do the same thankless job the best way they could everyday. Guys that had families and children, guys that had plans for their family.  Guys exactly like you, Baltimore City Police Officers. Guys that stood in the exact same spot you do at roll call, guys that patroled the same areas you do, guys that died on the streets exactly where you are each and everyday.
Guys that always knew the hazzards of this job in the back of their minds, Never believing that they were destined to be a Fallen Hero, a title they never wanted. All were more than happy with the titles they had, Son, Father, Brother, Husband, Police Officer. As you pass their faces remember in your heart that each man and woman, just wanted to do his/her shift and go home, again just like you.

Home to loved ones, and to get away from the tragedy that they dealt with durring the shift.

These are our Heroes, not by choice, but by just doing a job like you do everyday and trying to make a difference.
Be careful out there, Baltimore Police Officers, we do not want or need another Fallen Hero.

Police Officer's Prayer to St. Michael

Saint Michael, heaven's glorious commissioner of police,
who once so neatly and successfully cleared God's premises
of all its undesirables, look with kindly and professional
eyes on your earthly force.

Give us cool heads, stout hearts, and uncanny flair for
investigation and wise judgment.

Make us the terror of burglars, the friend of children and
law-abiding citizens, kind to strangers, polite to bores,
strict with law-breakers and impervious to temptations.

You know, Saint Michael, from your own experiences
with the devil that the police officer's lot on earth is not
always a happy one; but your sense of duty that so
pleased God, your hard knocks that so surprised the
devil, and your angelic self-control give us inspiration.

And when we lay down our night sticks, enroll us in your
heavenly force, where we will be as proud to guard the
throne of God as we have been to guard the city of all
the people. Amen.

Amazing Grace: The Policeman's Tribute

(Man In Blue)

Song Lyrics

A man in blue has lost his life in service of law.
The love that makes this sacrifice the greatest love of all.
A Police man was killed today, the reason I cannot say.
I don't know why he had to die.
The man in blue died for me and you;
we must remember him too.
Flags fly low, let use bow in prayer
for fallen police men everywhere;
and remember this: that they are missed.
The badge burns bright like an evening star
free from a world of war.

In Memory of

Our Fallen Heroes

 Like falling leaves the

Years drift by, but our

Fond memories of you

Will never die.

In our hearts you will

Always stay, loved and

Remembered every day.

Unseen, unheard, you are

Always near, still loved,

Still missed, still very dear.

DON'T GRIEVE FOR ME

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free
I'm following the path god laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard him call,
I turn my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Task left undone must stay that way,
I found that peace at the close of the day.
If my parting has left a void,
Than fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Ah yes, these things I, too, will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow,
My life's been full, I savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free.

I believe in God and believe I will see you again.

IN MEMORY

Dedicated to the memory of Law Enforcement professionals whose lives were committed to bettering their community and serving their fellow man. While time may help ease our pain and anguish, it does nothing to dim the thoughts and memories of our lost family, friends, partners and co-workers... We will always remember.

They are loved and will be missed by their children, family and the

Police Brotherhood

inmemory4.jpg

Don't think of them as gone away,
their journey has just begun.
Life holds so many facets,
this Earth is only one.
Just think of them as resting,
from the sorrows and the tears,
in a place of warmth and comfort,
where there are no days or years.
Think of how they must be wishing,
that we could know today,
how nothing but our sadness can really pass away.
And think of them as living in the hearts of those they touched,
for nothing loved is ever lost,
and they were loved so much.

PRAYER FOR RELATIVES
OF POLICE MEN AND WOMEN

Grant, O Lord, to those homes from which have come our country's Police Officers, the peace which you alone can give.
Make those at home strong to meet their trials, to overcome the pain of loss, to meet bravely whatever you have in store for them.
Make them proud that they are giving their own to fight for what they think is right.
Grant that all the graces they stand in need of may be theirs, that they may serve as best within them lies. Make them see your good and gracious purpose working in all the trials which you will send upon them.
Grant that whatever sacrifices you have in store for mothers and fathers, wives and sweethearts, sons and daughters, may be as well and bravely borne as your own Immaculate Mother bore her loss at the foot of the cross.

Amen.

In darkness silence of the night,

when all appeared safe and secure.

What this officer had no way of knowing,

he was beginning his shift of last tour.

~*~

Should have been a routine traffic stop,

he advised them not to exit their car.

However they had nothing left to lose,

and the shots could be heard from afar.

~*~

Things then became so very personal,

as his lifeless body lay on the ground.

Then you heard the words that stand still,

"start me a rescue unit, Officer down".

~*~

A mist of glow befell upon the scene,

the Archangel in spiritual radiance shone.

Watching over those in the uniform of blue,

they are his charges, children of the throne.

~*~

While you never took the time to meet him,

our heavenly Father knows them all by name.

Their honor, integrity, courage and pride.

though none ever sought any glorious fame.

~*~

On bended knee, his head bowed low,

through tears that had come and gone.

Michael gathered this Officer in his arms,

slowly begin the Ascension's journey on.

~*~

At heaven's magnificent gate was God,

his heart waiting for this soul to embrace.

"Welcome home my son, my first Police Officer,

come now and walk with me in eminent grace".

True Love Never Dies

I cruised the freeways, far and near,
and patrolled the highways long.
I assisted those in need of help,
and tried to right the wrongs.

I knew my job put me at risk,
thus faith came into call;
I never drove without the Lord.
He was with me through it all.

I didn't want to leave you,
but God said that I must go.
So, I held your love inside me,
and let my spirit flow.

Tell my family, and my friends,
that everything's okay;
Up here a deputy uses wings,
to cruise the Great Highway.

Teach my children to be proud,
and to not live life in fear.
Tell them Daddy's still on watch,
and that I am always near.

And you, dear wife, remember, please
that true love never dies.
What lives today, within the heart,
lives on in Paradise.

badgehonorguard.jpg

We gather today to remember,

the sacrifices our loved ones have made.

We will never forget those loved ones,

and the terrible price they have paid.

Their courage, dedication and professionalism

will forever be alive in our hearts.

May God, in His infinite power,

help to mend those broken parts.

There is no greater pain,

then the loss of those we love,

But we pray you will find inner strength,

with guidance from the Lord above.

It's a very tough journey you are faced with,

but together we can all make it through.

So, we gather today to remember, and share

the love for "Our Heroes in Blue.

"We know they are watching us now,

and so proud that you're all here.

They would like to see smiles not sadness;

see hope in your eyes not fear.

They are at peace with the Lord up in heaven,

and they would like us to be at peace too.

They know in their hearts how we miss them,

and they want you to know they miss you.

May you all find some solace in knowing,

that in God's eyes, they did not die in vain.

They gave their lives doing a job they believe in,

and it hurts them to see you in pain.

So as we pray for those loved ones we lost,

They would like us to pray too;

For the brave men and women still out there,

their Brothers and Sisters in Blue.

THE MONUMENT

I NEVER DREAMED IT WOULD BE ME
MY NAME FOR ALL ETERNITY
RECORDED HERE AT THIS HALLOWED PLACE
ALAS, MY NAME, NO MORE MY FACE
"IN THE LINE OF DUTY" I HEAR THEM SAY
MY FAMILY NOW THE PRICE WILL PAY
MY FOLDED FLAG STAINED WITH THEIR TEARS
WE ONLY HAD THOSE FEW SHORT YEARS
THE BADGE NO LONGER ON MY CHEST
I SLEEP NOW IN ETERNAL REST
MY SWORD I PASS TO THOSE BEHIND
AND PRAY THEY KEEP THIS THOUGHT IN MIND
I NEVER DREAMED IT WOULD BE ME
AND WITH HEAVY HEART AND BENDED KNEE
I ASK FOR ALL HERE FROM THE PAST
DEAR GOD, LET MY NAME BE THE LAST

casket.jpg

I never knew much about this until today....

What the flag draped coffin means?
I hope you take the time to read this..... To understand what the flag draped coffin really means...... Here is how to understand the flag that laid upon it and is surrendered to so many widows. (and widowers)

Do you know that at military funerals, the 21-gun salute stands for the sum of the numbers in the year 1776?

Have you ever noticed the honor guard pays meticulous attention to correctly folding the United States of America Flag 13 times? You probably thought it was to symbolize the original 13 colonies, but we learn something new every day!

The 1st fold of the flag is a symbol of life.

The 2nd fold is a symbol of the belief in eternal life.

The 3rd fold is made in honor and remembrance of the veterans departing the ranks who gave a portion of their lives for the defense of the country to attain peace throughout the world.

The 4th fold represents the weaker nature, for as American citizens trusting in God, it is to Him we turn in times of peace as well as in time of war for His divine guidance.

The 5th fold is a tribute to the country, for in the words of Stephen Decatur, "Our Country, in dealing with other countries, may she always be right; but it is still our country, right or wrong."

The 6th fold is for where people's hearts lie. It is with their heart that They pledge allegiance to the flag of the United! States Of America, and the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.

The 7th fold is a tribute to its Armed Forces, for it is through the Armed Forces that they protect their country and their flag against all her enemies, whether they be found within or without the boundaries of their republic.

The 8th fold is a tribute to the one who entered into the valley of the shadow of death, that we might see the light of day.

The 9th fold is a tribute to womanhood, and Mothers. For it has been through their faith, their love, loyalty and devotion that the character of the men and women who have made this country great has been molded.

The 10th fold is a tribute to the father, for he, too, has given his sons and daughters for the defense of their country since they were first born.

The 11th fold represents the lower portion of the seal of King David and King Solomon and glorifies in the Hebrews eyes, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

The 12th fold represents an emblem of eternity and glorifies, in the Christians eyes, God the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit.

The 13th fold, or when the flag is completely folded, the stars are uppermost reminding them of their nations motto, "In God We Trust."

After the flag is completely folded and tucked in, it takes on the appearance of a cocked hat, ever reminding us of the soldiers who served under General George Washington, and the Sailors and Marines who served under Captain John Paul Jones, who were followed by their comrades and shipmates in the Armed Forces of the United States, preserving for them the rights, privileges and freedoms they enjoy today.

There are some traditions and ways of doing things that have deep meaning. In the future, you'll see flags folded and now you will know why.

Share this with the children you love and all others who love what is referred to, the symbol of "Liberty and Freedom."

foldedflag.jpg

A Pair Of Angel Wings

They carved his name into the cold marble wall,

They hung his picture so proudly in the hall.

The folded flag from his burying day,

His mother gently caressed, then safely packed away.

His shiny boots are silent, no longer echoing in the hall,

Their steps silenced, by that final call.

His badge now rests near his old teddy bear,

With his baseball glove, and some silky strands of baby hair.

He traded his badge for a pair of angel wings,

The screams of a siren for the songs that angels sing.

He rests in the hand of God, warmed by heaven’s light,

Watched over by angels, through God’s eternal night.

to_those_i-love.jpg

In God’s Arms

So many names Upon the wall,

And God’s arms Hold them all.

Fathers and sons, Sisters too,

Died for the badge, Died for the blue.

Hopes and dreams Died also that day,

With their last breath Such a sad price to pay.

Though others will follow In their shoes,

There’s room for them In God’s arms too.

In God’s loving arms These men shall ever rest,

Their badges shining proudly Upon their blue chests.

PRAY THIS EVEN IF YOU DON'T FEEL LIKE IT!! IT WILL ONLY TAKE A MINUTE.

You never know when God is going to bless you!! Good things happen when you least expect them to !!!!!!!!

Dear Lord, I thank You for this day. I thank You for my being able to see and to hear this morning.

I'm blessed because You are a forgiving God and an understanding God.

You have done so much for me and You keep on blessing me.

Forgive me this day for everything I have done, said or thought that was not pleasing to you.

I ask now for Your forgiveness. Please keep me safe from all danger and harm. Help me to start this day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude. Let me make the best of each and every day to clear my mind so that I can hear from You.

Please broaden my mind that I can accept all things. Let me not whine and whimper over things I have no control over.
And It's the best response when I'm pushed beyond my limits.
I know that when I can't pray, You listen to my heart. Continue to use me to do Your will. Continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others. Keep me strong that I may help the weak... Keep me uplifted that I may have words of encouragement for others. I pray for those that are lost and can’t find their way. I pray for those that are misjudged and misunderstood. I pray for those who don’t know You intimately. I pray for those that will delete this without sharing it with others. I pray for those that don't believe.

But I thank you that I believe. I believe that God changes people and God changes things. I pray for all my sisters and brothers. For each and every family member in their households. I pray for peace, love and joy in their homes that they are out of debt and all their needs are met. I pray that every eye that reads this knows there is no problem, circumstance, or situation greater than God. Every battle is in Your hands for You to fight.
I pray that these words be received into the hearts of every eye that sees
it.

God Bless!!!!!!!!!!! Just repeat this phrase and see how God moves!!

God
I love you and I need you, come into my heart, please.
