AN ANTSY TUESDAY
An Antsy Tuesday, July 7
The Moon is full this morning in 15 degrees of Capricorn, meaning the Moon is directly opposite the Sun in 15
degrees of Cancer. This Full Moon is an oddity -- it is 16 hours from apogee, its farthest retreat from Earth, so it
is the smallest Full Moon of the year.
At the same time, it is an "invisible eclipse," it can't be seen anywhere on Earth with the naked eye.
Its astrological significance would be dubious except that it precedes a total eclipse of the Sun -- the longest of the century.
Eclipses signal change. Since ancient times, they have been blamed for floods, calamities, and crop failures,
as well as the fall of kings. Recent findings have linked them to earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.
The total eclipse on the 21st is the Big One. Today's is only a test shot. But be alert for rumblings
(after all, this is the Thunder Moon).
The Moon trines ambitious Saturn this morning. We're ready for business, loaded for bear, and we don't
have time to waste. Some folks will seem unusually brusque (try not to take it personally).
We're in fine fettle this afternoon, as the Moon sextiles frisky Uranus. People will be friendly, co-operative,
and open-minded.
We prance into the evening with our tails held high. The Moon trines motivating Mars, giving us an energy
boost. What we do with it is up to us.
But remember, this Full Moon is an eclipse, even if it is invisible -- and the Big One is just two weeks away.
What takes place now has far-reaching consequences. The night owls should stop, look, and listen -- and be alert for
straws in the wind.
Today's planting tip: After the Full Moon, we enter the third
quarter of the lunar cycle; and Capricorn is a fertile Earth sign. Both factors favor root crops like carrots and beets
as well as flowering bulbs. Moreover, today's lunar aspects are especially auspicious for growth and develpment.

AN ALARMING MONDAY
An Alarming Monday, July 6
The Moon is full tomorrow morning -- exactly opposite the Sun -- always a time when things come to a head.
The Moon will be at apogee, however, its farthest distance from Earth -- making it the smallest Full Moon of the year.
Usually, that would mute the effect but tomorrow's Full Moon is also a lunar eclipse -- itself relatively puny
since it can't be seen anywhere on Earth with the naked eye.
But it is the culmination of the Super New Moon -- and it is a prelude to the total eclipse of the Sun, the longest
total eclipse of the 21st century. (There won't be a longer one until June 13, 2132.)
It is not so much tomorrow's "eclipse" that makes this Full Moon noteworthy; it's the company it keeps.
And today it is in bad company.
Impetuous Mars squares off with irrational Neptune and egregious Jupiter, inciting wretched excess and sneak
attacks. It may also spread infection, thanks to a minor contact between Venus and Pluto.*
The Moon is in pragmatic Capricorn, which usually keeps our heads on straight -- but not when Neptune is acting
up. This could make some people ruthless, others underhanded. Beware of ulterior motives and "surefire" schemes.
This evening, we're on pins and needles and some folks are ready to snap. But at least we have an outlet.
Mars sextiles liberating Uranus, and the night owls will let it all hang out.
* Venus quincuxes Pluto. Usually classed as a minor aspect, a quincux still packs a wallop.
It is linked to accidents and acts of fate but it is also associated with health issues, including STDs.
Today's planting tip: The Moon is waxing in Capricorn, a fertile
Earth sign: favorable for above ground crops and annual flowers.

A SASSY SUNDAY
A Sassy Sunday, July 5
The winds of change are blowing up a storm, and for many it means a breath of fresh air. Vibrant Venus
enters breezy Gemini this morning, for a stay until July 31.
Social butterflies come out of hibernation, and we'll be more eclectic in the company we keep, though old loyalties
are in transition and some are nearing the end of the line.
Today the Moon is in adventurous Sagittarius, arousing the urge to ramble. Early on, we are out of step
but we'll hit our stride this afternoon.
The Moon sextiles maverick Chiron, intriguing Neptune, as well as jaunty Jupiter. People are ready to spread
their wings and sample what life has to offer. But be prepared to improvise.
The Moon also squares off with errant Uranus, and the scenario goes into the shredder. People will be spontaneous
but unpredictable, and inclined to act on impulse.
But be careful what you set in motion. After contacting Uranus, the Moon is void-of-course:
In the East, it runs from 3:17 PM to 10:07 PM. (One hour earlier for Central Time.)
On the West Coast and in Arizona, it's 12:17 PM to 7:07 PM. (An hour later for Mountain Time.)
The period ends as the Moon enters Capricorn and brings us down to earth. We'll mean what we say, and say
what we mean -- and we won't pull punches.
This evening, the Moon conjoins primal Pluto as Venus and Pluto line up. Relationships may reach a new
level or sink to an all-time low.
We'll be into the warm-up for Tuesday's Full Moon, which is also an "invisible" lunar eclipse -- a Full Moon
on steroids. It gets hot and heavy for the next few days but we ain't seen nothin' yet.
Today's planting tip: Capricorn is a moderately fertile Earth sign
and the lunar phase is favorable for vegetables and annuals. But plant nothing while the Moon is in Sagittarius, a Fire
sign.

A SIZZLING SATURDAY
A Sizzling Saturday, July 4
The spirit of independence is alive and well today but the fireworks go off ahead of schedule.
The Moon is in swashbuckling Sagittarius and we're eager to set sail. But animated Mercury is opposite
explosive Pluto: Don't leave harbor without your cannon -- you might have to fend off pirates.
Travel could be a hassle. Plan for delays, breakdowns, and gridlock -- along with disconcerting news.
Hidden things come out when Mercury contacts Pluto, and a slip of the tongue could speak volumes. Disclosures
may be upsetting but they lead to a change in consciousness. Even a painful truth will set you free.
The pressure eases this afternoon but the evening opens on a serious note, as the Moon squares off with sobering
Saturn. At best, we'll be feeling blah but it's only a passing mood.
The later it gets, the better it goes. The night owls will get their rockets off.
Today's planting tip: Don't. Sagittarius is a Fire sign,
not fertile. Take the day off and celebrate the 4th.

A FRAZZLED FRIDAY
A Frazzled Friday, July 3
We're starting the weekend early, whether we want to or not. And for all we get accomplished this morning,
we might as well sleep in.
The Moon is in still-waters Scorpio, and the Moon opposes vagrant Venus around dawn. The early birds are
sleeping it off or wandering around in a fog.
But the surface calm is deceptive. After contacting Venus, the Moon is void-of-course and it's all a mirage.
In the East, the void Moon lasts from 6:03 AM to 10:10 AM. (One hour earlier for Central Time.)
On the West Coast and in Arizona, it runs from 3:03 AM to 7:10 AM. (An hour later for Mountain Time.)
The period ends as the Moon enters Sagittarius, and ignites a mood swing. We're out of the funk and feeling
our oats -- and some folks are in a fighting mood.
But expect confusion at first. Mental Mercury enters caring Cancer this afternoon, for a stay until July
17. Our interactions will be more emotional but today we are in transition; it will take awhile to adjust.
Mercury opposes compelling Pluto tomorrow morning but we're feeling the pressure by nightfall. A change
in consciousness is taking place and true colors are coming out -- along with deep, dark secrets and flaws we've papered over.
The cards are on the table this evening and the pedal's to the metal. Be careful in traffic if you're out
and about. The night owls will be accident prone.
Today's planting tip: Scorpio is a fertile sign but the Moon is
void-of-course. Water, fertilize, and apply compost but it's a chancy time to start anything.
Plant nothing with the Moon in Sagittarius -- a barren Fire sign -- but it is a good time to clear brush and uproot weeds.
