Introducing the Site . . .

It was 3:38 AM on Saturday, June 2, 2007, as I began this blog.  The Moon would be void-of-course in a few hours and I was rushing to beat the deadline.  Why?  Because projects fizzle out when they start under a void-of-course Moon.  For a full explanation, click Void Moon above.  The short answer is: it means uncertain skies and a shift in the cosmic weather.

The astrological "weather" is constantly changing as the planets shift position and alignments.  The Daily Stellarscope (below) tracks the transitions with an  astrological forecast for each day of the week, issuing storm warnings when appropriate.   It tells you what to expect and, possibly, what to avoid.

Void-of-course Moon alerts are included, with times given for the four contiguous U.S. time zones.  For the long-range monthly and seasonal outlook, click Oracle on the menu (or "The Monthly Oracle" on the site map).

The Bulletin Board could just as well be called the "X-Files."  This is where I'll post items of interest, celestial, supernatural, or simply quirky.  Click Bulletins.   New items are added (or removed) almost daily so check often.

This and Data has a schedule for all retrograde planets in 2008, a list of lunar perigees and apogees for the year, and a calendar of conjunctions.  I have also added a link to the World Clock at the top of the page.  Click Data on the menu bar.

The Archives page is the depository for items which might come in handy for future reference.  Most of the material consists of past bulletins.  The contents are subject to deletion if they get too stale but that won't happen often, if at all.  Archives are supposed to be "stale." Musty, anyway.  Click Archives  on the menu.

I have added a separate page for the birth chart of the United States.  Look for USA Horoscope on the site map.  I also moved related material from the Archives and Bulletin Board to the new page, mostly election commentary and a discussion of Pluto's effect on the economy.

The system and I are out of sync so an entry will often be dated for the previous day.  The sub-heading in red caps is the date of the report -- inserted by human hand (mine).  The date above is when it was posted (an auto-stamp with a mind of its own).

Reports appear in advance.  When the planets are lining up, that could be as much as several days so individual daily entries may be grouped under one posting date.

The pictures are chiefly dividers to distinguish one day from another -- in case those red caps aren't enough -- but I try to pick one that fits the theme of the day.

If you click on a link and get a "page unavailable" message -- or if an "X" shows up where a picture should be -- hit the Refresh button on your browser.  This solves the problem.

Comments are always welcome.  Be sure to get in touch so I know you're out there!  You can add a comment to my guest book by clicking the button below.  Or you can e-mail from the "Contact Me" link.

A THANKFUL THURSDAY
Ringing BellsA Thankful Thursday, Nov 26

There's excitement in the air this morning, and a sense of anticipation.  The Moon is in sentimental Pisces, and the Moon conjoins spontaneous Uranus, then trines loving Venus.

Some folks are in for a surprise -- and odds are, it will be pleasant.  Animated Mercury trines avid Mars, perfect for jaunts and conversations even though the Moon is void-of-course for most of the day after it contacts Venus.

Not to worry.  The Moon's last aspect sets the tone and this void Moon is mellower than most.

In the East, the Moon is void-of-course from 9:17 AM to 10:11 PM. (One hour earlier for Central Time.)

On the West Coast, it runs from 6:17 AM to 7:11 PM.  (An hour later for Mountain Time.)

It is a good day for feasting, family time, and having fun although it grows increasingly spacy as Venus squares off with nebulous Neptune.

There's a change in mood this evening, as the Moon enters restless Aries.  Some people will be disgruntled while others battle indigestion.

In the wee hours, the Moon squares Pluto and opposes Saturn.  The night owls will be dissatisfied.

A WANDERFUL WEDNESDAY
Airplane Taking OffA Wanderful Wednesday, Nov 25

It's "over the river and through the woods" for some; others are leaving on a jet plane.  But however we get to grandma's, it is a good day to make tracks.

Convivial Venus trines undaunted Uranus, and people are ready for a change of venue.  This is a dandy social influence, especially if you're seeking variey to spice up your life.

The Moon is in sentimental Pisces, however, and a lot of us are feeling nostalgic.  Early on, we are simply impatient as the Moon squares off with fidgety Pholus.

This afternoon, we are on the go and the pace is getting hectic.  The Moon squares off with manic Mercury: People will be rushed, hassled, and out of breath.

Things settle down this evening as feelings come to the surface.  It is a good time to reach out and let others know you care.  In the wee hours, the Moon trines expressive Ceres, and the night owls will be affectionate.

A TOUCHY TUESDAY
Blue Beating HeartA Touchy Tuesday, Nov 24

We sally forth with good intentions but the drawbridge is stuck in place.  The Sun sextiles stalwart Saturn and the Moon is in idealistic Aquarius.  But the Moon is void-of-course until 11:09 AM EST (8:09 PT).  Allow for delays, no-shows, and snafus.

The period ends as the Moon enters Pisces, and exposes our insecurities.  Minutes after it enters Pisces, the Moon opposes vestal Vesta.  People will be reserved and reticent but the surface calm is misleading.

The Moon trines empowering Pluto, and still waters bubble over.  We are rising to the occasion, and some of us are setting records.

The First Quarter Moon comes this afternoon, in 3 degrees of impassioned Pisces.  Quarter Moons are energizers but they rattle cages.  This one could open the floodgates.

We are extra sensitive with the Moon in Pisces.  People feel vulnerable and they are easily discouraged; some will feel threatened.

Vulnerable Venus squares acriminious Chiron tonight.  If you want to leave wounds, now's the time to scratch.  Fortune favors the peace-makers but the night owls will rattle skeletons.

A MAVERICK MONDAY
Red Glass Tumbling BottleA Maverick Monday, Nov 23

There's extra snap in the crackle and pop this morning, and it's enough to bite your head off.  The Moon is in ornery Aquarius, and the Moon opposes combative Mars before dawn.

People are hair-triggered and in a hurry but many are accident prone.  The Moon aligns with negligent Neptune, and a careless moment could be catastrophic.

Mobile Mercury conjoins sally-forth Pholus, instilling the courage to wade in -- or strike off on our own.  But some folks are going out on a limb or living beyond their means.

Lavish Venus squares indulgent Jupiter, tempting us to go whole hog (or to live high off it).  This is a "hard" contact between two softies -- Venus, the lesser benefic and Jupiter, the greater benefic. They only kill with kindness.

Some folks will feel the urge to splurge, others the urge to merge.  But we could be indiscriminate, only to regret it later.

This afternoon, it's eat, drink, and be merry as the Moon squares off with Venus and conjoins Jupiter.  Some will squeeze in some extracurricular coupling.

Uncharted waters are alluring but this evening we're adrift in a fog. The Moon conjoins hypnotic Neptune: Some will succumb to the siren's song, most will be lost in space.  After falling under Neptune's spell, the Moon is void-of-course:

In the East, it runs from 10:36 PM to 11:09 tomorrow morning.  (Onwe hour earlier for Central Time.)

On the West Coast, it's 7:36 PM to 8:09 AM tomorrow.  (An hour later for Mountain Time.)

These void periods are unpredictable but we are more spontaneous than usual.  It is a great time to unleash your creativity or let down your hair.  The night owls will be uninhibited.
