Introducing the Site . . .

It was 3:38 AM on Saturday, June 2, 2007, as I began this blog.  The Moon would be void-of-course in a few hours and I was rushing to beat the deadline.  Why?  Because projects fizzle out when they start under a void-of-course Moon.  For a full explanation, click Void Moon above.  The short answer is: it means uncertain skies and a shift in the cosmic weather.

The astrological "weather" is constantly changing as the planets shift position and alignments.  The Daily Stellarscope (below) tracks the transitions with an  astrological forecast for each day of the week, issuing storm warnings when appropriate.   It tells you what to expect and, possibly, what to avoid.

Void-of-course Moon alerts are included, with times given for the four contiguous U.S. time zones.  For the long-range monthly and seasonal outlook, click Oracle on the menu (or "The Monthly Oracle" on the site map).

The Bulletin Board could just as well be called the "X-Files."  This is where I'll post items of interest, celestial, supernatural, or simply quirky.  Click Bulletins.   New items are added (or removed) almost daily so check often.

This and Data has a schedule for all retrograde planets in 2008, a list of lunar perigees and apogees for the year, and a calendar of conjunctions.  I have also added a link to the World Clock at the top of the page.  Click Data on the menu bar.

The Archives page is the depository for items which might come in handy for future reference.  Most of the material consists of past bulletins.  The contents are subject to deletion if they get too stale but that won't happen often, if at all.  Archives are supposed to be "stale." Musty, anyway.  Click Archives  on the menu.

I have added a separate page for the birth chart of the United States.  Look for USA Horoscope on the site map.  I also moved related material from the Archives and Bulletin Board to the new page, mostly election commentary and a discussion of Pluto's effect on the economy.

The system and I are out of sync so an entry will often be dated for the previous day.  The sub-heading in red caps is the date of the report -- inserted by human hand (mine).  The date above is when it was posted (an auto-stamp with a mind of its own).

Reports appear in advance.  When the planets are lining up, that could be as much as several days so individual daily entries may be grouped under one posting date.

The pictures are chiefly dividers to distinguish one day from another -- in case those red caps aren't enough -- but I try to pick one that fits the theme of the day.

If you click on a link and get a "page unavailable" message -- or if an "X" shows up where a picture should be -- hit the Refresh button on your browser.  This solves the problem.

Comments are always welcome.  Be sure to get in touch so I know you're out there!  You can add a comment to my guest book by clicking the button below.  Or you can e-mail from the "Contact Me" link.

A WOOZY WEDNESDAY
Lava Lamp, BubblingA Woozy Wednesday, November 11

The early birds are on the move.  Animated Mercury trines spontaneous Uranus this morning, and there's electricity in  the air.

Original thinkers will have a field day.  But if you have places to go or people to see, earlier is better than later.

The Moon is in vigilant Virgo:  We're on the ball and sharp as tacks.  But the day grows increasingly foggy.

Mercury squares off with nebulous Neptune tonight but the influence builds by afternoon.  People will be addled, incoherent, and absent-minded -- but we need to pay attention.

This evening, the Moon opposes erratic Uranus, making folks antsy, impulsive, and accident prone.

In the wee hours, the Moon sextiles Mercury and we'll see the light. After that, however, the Moon is void-of-course:

In the East, the void Moon runs from 2:13 tonight until 12:22 tomorrow afternoon.  (One hour earlier for Central Time.)

On the West Coast, it's 11:13 PM to 9:22 AM tomorrow.  (An hour later for Mountain Time.)

The night owls ought to lie low.

A TWINKLING TUESDAY
Yellow Spinning 5 Point StarA Twinkling Tuesday, Nov 10

The early birds are asleep at the switch but it won't take long to snap out of it.  We begin with the Moon void-of-course in lazy Leo but that ends at 8:30 AM ET (5:30 PT) when the Moon strides into vigorous Virgo.  Right away, the Moon trines Pluto and we are rising to the challenge.

The Sun squares off with expansive Jupiter -- "no mountain's too high, no ocean's too deep," and no limb is too long to go out on.

Motivating Mars trines forceful Pholus:  Our energy's up, self-confidence is high, and we are ready to conquer the world -- or make a conquest period.

This afternoon, the Moon sextiles lovable Venus as interactive Mercury trines conjugal Juno.  Messages will be well received and visitors warmly welcomed.

After that, we're riding the crest with no other influences to intervene -- and one to aid and abet.  Mercury trines liberating Uranus tomorrow but the alignment stimulates by nightfall.

It is a dandy evening to network, circulate, and open channels -- and to entertain new ideas.  When Mercury trines Uranus, if you "free your mind, the rest will follow."  The night owls will go exploring.

A MAKESHIFT MONDAY
Striped Tumbling BoltA Makeshift Monday, Nov 9

It's back to the salt mines this morning, and we'd rather be anyplace but where we have to be.  The Last Quarter Moon comes this morning, in 17 degrees of Leo.

Quarter Moons are energizers but this one could be provocative.  The Moon opposes egregious Jupiter, inflating hopes, exaggerating demands, and arousing appetites  -- and inducing pipe dreams, too. People will be careless, carefree, and lackadaisical.

This afternoon, however, it starts catching up, as the Moon squares manic Mercury.  We'll be rushed, impatient, and distracted.  Make sure you heard it right; words could be taken wrong -- they might also open wounds.

About 90 minutes later, the Moon opposes recriminating Chiron as Mercury aligns with implacable Pluto.  Expect heavy thinking, hard bargaining, and wounded feelings.  Sugar-coat statements and keep the kid gloves handy.

The Moon opposes sensitive Neptune, after which the Moon is void-of-course, and we all go nuts together.

In the East, the Moon is void-of-course from 9:43 PM to 8:30 tomorow morning.  (One hour earlier for Central Time.)

On the West Coast, it runs from 6:43 PM to 5:30 AM tomorrow.  (An hour later for Mountain Time.)

It's a good evening to bow out gracefully and bolt the doors before you go to bed.  The fruitcakes will be out in force.

A SIZZLING SUNDAY
Trumpet Playing 1A Sizzling Sunday, Nov 8

It is the Day of the Sun on the astrological calendar (and the first day of the astological week).  And today, we are looking on the bright side.

The Moon is in sunny Leo, and mental Mercury squares indulgent Jupiter.  All of which is a recipe for big ideas, flights of fancy, and overblown oratory.

We're taking ourselves seriously this morning, as the Moon sextiles no-nonsense Saturn.  The Sun semi-squared Saturn overnight and it semi-squares Pluto this afternoon.  These are "minor" aspects but they trigger the current square between Saturn and Pluto.

Pluto rules hidden forces but they show themselves today.  Watch for ripples in the middle of the day, as the Moon and Pluto face off across the Equator.  Some folks will be compulsive while others are possessed.

Voluptuous Venus slipped into sultry Scorpio yesterday; and tonight, Venus sextiles primal Pluto, the ruler of Scorpio.  Sextiles are "soft" contacts and they usually have nothing to do with sex -- but this one ignites the urge to merge.

Sparks fly this evening as the Moon conjoins impetuous Mars, and trines forge-ahead Pholus.  People will be spunky, flirtatious, and playful (though some will play rough).

Put indoor sports on the after hours agenda.  The night owls will feel athletic.

A FLUSHED SATURDAY
Toilet, Opening & Closing LidA Flushed Saturday, Nov 7

The early birds have the right idea.  The Moon is in common sense Cancer, and the Moon trines mental Mercury this morning.  But it could be the right idea at the wrong time because follow-through is feeble.

Venus is changing signs and, as usual, we are caught in the switch.  Loving Venus enters sultry Scorpio this evening for a stay until December 1.

Relations will turn intense and loyalties will deepen but it will take awhile to adjust to the transition.  Today, we're lazy, laidback, and letting things slide.

Still, it is a good afternoon to be with people or to reach out and touch someone.  The Moon trines conjugal Juno and stimulating Uranus: people will be spontaneous and receptive.

But don't get your hopes up tonight.  After contacting Uranus, the Moon is void-of-course:

In the East, it runs from 5:26 PM to 5:23 tomorrow morning.  (One hour earlier for Central Time.)

On the West Coast, it's 2:26 PM to 2:23 AM tomorrow.  (An hour later for Mountain Time.)

Things don't go as planned when the Moon is void-of-course.  And thanks to a minor semi-square between the Sun and stuffy Saturn, party poopers will be out in force.  The night owls should take a raincheck.
