The Chantilly Rumble is a U13 Girls Soccer Team participating in the Old Dominion Soccer League (ODSL). We started playing
together prior to the start of the Fall 2007 Season with players selected from an open tryout. We are playing in our
third season in ODSL, and were promoted to Division 2 for the start of the current season. The girls are coming together
as a team, and have dramatically improved their play over the last year. The team was started with the goal of providing
the travel soccer experience to the girls on our team, with a focus on the following:
Skill Development - Our team spends a great deal of time focusing on the fundamentals of play - footskills,
passing, trapping, and shooting. In addition, we focus on getting the girls to think on the field. When combined
with good footskills, a team that uses good tactics will be much stronger.
Sportsmanship - We believe this is the cornerstone for any team, and we stress the importance of respect
for teammates, opponents, officials, and coaches. Of all the skills the girls will learn, we know these lessons can
be carried forward in their lives long after they've played competitive soccer.
Competition - With the increased level of play in travel soccer, we've seen the skills of our players
improve dramatically. We think good healthy competition teaches valuable life lessons, and we want our girls to build
their focus and desire to be as competitive as possible.
Fun - If nothing else, playing soccer should be fun. We have a lot of fun and share a lot of laughs
at a practices. We also try to schedule activities for the team outside of practices and games so the girls can have
fun together off the field as well.
