Joan Dandy, Owner and Instructor:
Having grown up with dogs, Joan learned many valuable lessons. Well before learning the theory behind positive reinforcement,
Joan knew, even as a child, that the best way to bond to her dogs and teach them good manners or tricks was to keep the training
fun and positive. Some years ago, after watching her first dog trial, Joan became hooked on dog training. She has since owned
and trained a variety of breeds including: a Great Dane, a Greyhound, a Collie, two Shelties and, presently, a German Shepherd.
On her way to becoming a certified teacher Joan has competed in obedience through Utility and Agility as well as instructed
others from puppy classes to competition classes. Joan’s goals are to combine her love of dogs and of teaching to create
an environment in which others can experience the joy of bonding to their dog and fun of dog training.

Kary Starling, Agility Instructor:
Kary received her first
2 Shelties 7 years ago and they have taught her a lot. She knew immediately that she would have to learn agility
for Saska as she was weaving the bushes in the backyard at 10 weeks old. Kary has taught classes in various schools and has
taken plenty of classes and private lessons from well known handlers. Kary has attended several Clean Run camps.
C-Sea granted her the privilege of qualifying and attending the AKC Nationals in January 2006. C-Sea ended up as
the #1 14 inch jumper on the Pennsylvania Team. All five of Kary's girls perform in agility, herding, and obedience. Kary
believes all dogs need a job and that all training can be accomplished through positive methods.
Kary is most privileged to have 6 sheltie companions that make her daily
life a delight.

Bridget McAlister, Freestyle and Tricks Instructor:
I got my 1st aussie in 1997. I'm a farm girl growing up on a dairy farm, have always had dogs in my
life and now have my own grooming shop. I have 3 Australian Shepherds, Hale-Bopp, Canyon, and my rescue, Sea Breeze. My dogs
cross-train in agility, obedience, herding, and tracking. I compete in Rally-O and Canine Freestyle. My dogs and
I do home visits and parades. I volunteer with ARPH (aussie rescue), training, fostering and homing aussies.
I'm a self-taught dancer learning by books and tapes. I started competing in 2002. Canyon has 6 dance
titles, numerous medals and ribbons, and a very special award, the 2006 Nationals Dancing Duncan Smile Award. Sea Breeze has
2 dance titles and also numerous medals and ribbons.
Freestyle is my 1st love of all dog sports teaching canines and humans to be partners in mind and body
through music and dance.

Lorraine von Trott, Basic Obedience instructor:
I started training dogs about
16 years ago, and discovered that I really enjoyed it, and even wanted to compete in dog sports. I first started
training with my golden retriever, and we earned a CD in obedience, and that got me started . I got my first Shetland sheepdog,
Skye 11 years ago, and the 2 of us have learned so much together. I got my second Sheltie Reggie, my wild child, 6 years
ago, and now also have Alex, the youngster. We have competed and earned advanced titles in agility, rally obedience,
and canine freestyle, and have dabbled in tracking, and even tried lure coursing for fun, which Reggie and Alex thought was
a blast. I am a member of the Carlisle Dog Training Club and the York County Dog Training Club, and try
and take part in as many activities as I can. I also visit nursing homes with several other friends to entertain with
our freestyle numbers. I have learned much from my dogs, some terrific instructors, made many wonderful friends,
and having a great time doing it!.
