| Right after surgery in the recovery room |

|
We arrived at Children's Hospital at 6:15AM
on Wednesday, April 19, 2006 to begin the registration process. At 7:30 Andy was given some medication to help him relax
and was dressed in a little surgical gown. At around 8AM we watched as
Andy was wheeled away into the operating room. Mom and Dad nervously waited and prayed throughout the 2 hour surgery.
At approximately 10:30AM we were taken to the recovery room where Andy was still asleep. We eagerly looked at his mouth and
we couldn't believe how well the incision site looked. Andy was swollen around his mouth and cheeks, but he looked so peaceful
and it was wonderful to look at his cute face and not see the hemangioma. A total of 62 stitches made a parallel
line across the bottom of his nose, down to his lip, underneath the lipline, and top of gum. Due to Andy's history of
being on a heart monitor and suffering two Bradycardia attacks while in the NICU, the doctors initially suggested that he
remain in the hospital overnight. It was then decided that they would keep him under observation for 4 hours after surgery
and make a final decision whether an overnight stay was necessary. Andy did great during surgery and
all his vitals remained stable during the 4 hour watch. We were happy to hear that he could come home with us from the recovery
room!
