Operations in Salem are 6 days a week, Monday-Saturday. The SRNJ will operate on Sundays as needed. There is a yard in Salem that is maintained by the RR. The yard is used for storage of loaded cars until they are needed at the local businesses served by the RR. There is an interchange with the former Conrail (now Shared Assets) via WPPA-40 in Swedesboro, NJ. This interchange run, for the SRNJ, operates Tuesdays-Thursdays-Saturdays. If an extra is needed to run the RR will do so. Monday-Wednesday-Friday are normal day's of switching jobs for the local businesses. The RR also does some switching for these businesses before and after the interchange runs. The Crews are normally called for 7AM.

 

This line will mostly see various covered hoppers. Other types of cars can be found on the line when specials are needed. The RR does have the capability of loading dock/dry transfer area in Salem. This gives the RR the ability to serve businesses that are not on the RR.
