Roaring loud, the crowd proud!
Pomp and circumstance to enhance.
The Armed Forces, Astronauts, Teams!
                    Pennants beam.
               Vendors all genders.
              Nationalities unite.
              News crews invite.
             Anticipated duly Paraded.
         up "The Canyon of Heroes".
           Slow motion, such commotion.
Streams of tears, you can't hear.
Remarks witty. Presented keys to the city.

Hollow Victory                        Thurs. Sept. 13, 2007

Bitter sweet it is......
Facing the bright lights of show biz.
My accomplishments celebrated.
All of Queens; my people elated.
You should have been with me.
You should have been there to see.
The Canyon of Heroes recited.
The thousands of people united.
If Grandpa could have been there;
He'd be present, proud and representing.
Right there from City Hall.
Our family there; one and all.
The joy- the jubilation.
Sparked from my poem- creation.
Viewed my eyes quite welled.
In great esteem I'm held.
You would be brimming with pride.
That my God- given talent; I did not hide.
You my supporter; of all things poetic.
Understanding me; so sympathic.
Honestly to be frank; I justed wanted to say thanks.
For all the joy you've spread....good cousin.
To the many; by the dozens.
And though there was no seat for you;
Know that your acknowledged; as a member of the crew.
I'm so missing you- you know.
This poem is finished. I have to go.

I am Death                          Weds. Aug. 15, 2007

I am the flame that flickers....smolders.
I am the senior....older.
I am the  amber's light.
I am the diminished  fight.
I am the....saw dust.
A car's cancer....body rust.
I am termite infested lumber.
A silenced child's eternal slumber.
I am a lemon squeezed.
Or that car engine seized.
I am the deflated balloon.
The eminent sense of doom.
I am a rubber- band popped.
Your favorite show that has been dropped.
I am the breath....stilled....hushed.
A caterpillar crushed.
I am death; all I touch dies.
motionless everything lies.
Accept me....Expect me....
