A Day of Mass Resistance
Torture!
Illegal War!
Katrina!
Theocracy!
Loss of Habeus Corpus!
Join with your brothers and sisters as we answer the national call for a Halt to the Madness. Let
your voice be heard. We will demonstrate from 11am until 8pm at Lykes Gaslight Park in downtown Tampa
(410
N. Franklin St, just north of Kennedy Blvd)
We will have peace activities from the early lunch hour through the end of the work day. We'll
march around the park with signs and a great deal of intention. We will sing, chant, meditate, and share our passion
for America the Beautiful, before she became so tarnished by the Bush policies of lies and torture.
Guest speakers will share their views in two time slots: from 12-1:30 pm and again from 5-6:30
pm. Speakers include representatives from:
- Tampa Code Pink
- Tampa Truth 911
- Tampa Veterans for Peace
- St Pete for Peace
- Tampa World Can’t Wait
- The Refuge
- Food Not Bombs
- Nature Coast Coalition for Peace and Justice
with additional guests
- Brian Moore, Independent candidate for US Senate
- Max Linn, third party candidate for governor
- Samm Simpson, grandmother and Democratic candidate for U.S. Congress for District 10
- Chris Hrabovsky, Democratic candidate for the Florida House for
District 45
- Mabíli Ajaní
Oguniyí, host of Critical Times on WMNF
There will be music and face painting
for peace, with other activities yet to be planned, as we call for regime change here at home! Bring
your own signs, a lunch and water, instruments, and your own reason for wanting to drive out the Bush regime. We
will have stickers, leaflets, and posters available.
Be the change you want to see in the
world." MK Gandhi
