House Rules
Parents, please be respectful to my home and me. The respect that you show will be relayed to your child
and will make for a great working relationship. For the kids, there will be three simple rules: Don't hurt yourself,
Don't hurt others and Don't hurt anything. The kids will be reminded of the rules daily, and a system to monitor behavior
will be implemented. The rewards and disciplines will be customized to each child based which will be discussed with
the parents prior to enrollment. I know that kids respond differently to different techniques, so I strive to make this
experience the best for each individual child. Under no circumstances will there be any spanking, physical or
verbal abuse or isolation used.
Schedules
Schedules will be somewhat flexible and customized to each individual child. There will be set times for meals, snacks,
and naps. Electronic entertainment (TV, computer, etc.) will be limited to one hour or less per day, except for days
where extreme weather prohibits us from going outdoors. Weather permitting, I will take the kids outdoors to the
local playground or park every day. Additionally, the kids will spend time playing on the deck. I love
the outdoors and will spend a lot of time with the kids outside.
Weekly schedules will be posted and available to the parents upon request.
Illnessees
I adhere to the same policies that the school system does. The child must be fever free for 24 hours before he/she
can come back. (I consider a "true" fever to be above 100'.) Additionally, if your child has been sick
(vomiting, diarrhea, rash, pink eye, Lice/nits, or chicken pox) he/she must stay home.
We are a team. If your child is feeling a little down or under the weather, let me know so I can monitor and
let you know how they are doing.
Injuries
Minor bumps and scratches are bound to happen (after all, they are kids!!) and I am prepared to treat minor cuts, scrapes,
etc. An injury report will be filled out and the parents will receive a copy at pick-up time. Parents will not
be contacted unless the injury is severe, the child is upset, or if outside medical attention is needed. Emergency forms
will be required before a child can start with me!
