The Israeli Harvest Cooperative provides high quality Israeli farm products to families in the Washington
area. By organizing group purchases, we offer the freshest Israeli produce possible since everything goes directly to you
instead of to a store shelf.
What can I order now?
We are currently taking orders for organic Medjool dates
grown on Moshavim and Kibbutzim (two types of cooperative farming communities in Israel)
along the Dead Sea Plains in the Jordan Valley.
We are arranging to order the dates from Carmel, the cooperative
marketing company owned by the kibbutzim, moshavim and the Israeli government.
7 oz package of Organic Medjool Dates:
$3
Case of 8 packages of Organic Medjool Dates: $22
Where can you pick up your order?
We will deliver your order to central locations in the
Washington metropolitan area such as churches or synagogues.
More About the Dates:
These dates are larger and juicier than Medjool dates
from California. Israel has emerged as one of the leading sources of top quality dates. The Dead Sea region's high mineral content, extremely arid climate and abundant underground water combine
to form the ideal growing conditions for dates.
Dates store for several months so a case is not too much
for one family. It is actually easy to eat all the dates in a couple weeks because they are so good. The boxes also
can be split between two families or divided into gifts around Pesach or other holidays. Send us an email at jugbay@verizon.net if you would like to order some dates.
Coming Soon:
We plan to offer other Israeli products soon including
honey, olive oil, raisins, olives, pomegranates, seeds, teas and spices.
Why Support Israeli Farms?
Israeli farmers are some of the most productive in the
world and grow many items not grown locally, including dates, figs, olives and pomegranates. Farms in Israel face the same challenges as farms in America.
Israeli and American farmers are both struggling to survive in an era of low prices and sprawling residential
development.
In both countries, farmland is being converted to
housing at a frightening pace. In Israel
the demand to convert farmland to housing is even greater and the destruction of farmland more tragic because of the size
of the country. Together we can support Israeli farms and enjoy good food from the land of Israel.
