About Me
"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times."  Charles Dickens
The famous quote from Dickens epitomizes the United States during the years of 1941-1945 in World War II.  We witnessed the most costly and deadly war in the history of the world with unforgettable names that are etched in our memories, such as Pearl Harbor, Tarawa, Normandy, Iwo Jima, The Battle of the Bulge, Dachau and Hiroshima.
Back home, however, a patriotic fervor swept the nation and Americans banded together to win this battle of democracy versus dictators and good versus evil.  Everyone from the young to the elderly took steps on the "Home Front" to ensure the United States would emerge victorious and support the brave men and women in uniform around the world.

This effort on the Home Front illustrates the great spirit of the American people.  While there were some who sought personal goals and didn't support the war effort the best they could, they were overshadowed by those that did.  Anti-axis collectibles were used on the Homefront and serve as one small part of the history of the Homefront in the United States during World War II.  Every aspect of American life was affected by the war, and phrases such as "Remember Pearl Harbor" and "V for Victory" still hold special meaning today.
