Sewing in the last twenty-five years has declined drastically in the United States but was still
very common during the war years. There were about ten different versions of pin cushions made during the war,
including the Bassons Hotzi Notzi seen here in the common standard 4 and 3/4 inch size and the rare jumbo sales display
version. The pin cushion is Hitler's rearend.

This pin cushion appeared in both a soft fabric format and a cardboard format with Hitler on one
side and Mussolini on the other. An additional cardboard version featured Tojo rather than Mussolini.

In an effort that often was not difficult based upon events in the news, the enemy leaders were often
portrayed as less than human with their faces added to a variety of different animals. Piggy banks were given a moustache
and parted hair while calling for savings to go to the war effort. Other figurines served little purpose beyond poking
fun at our enemy.

In addition to the items pictured above, I have tried to show examples of many of the other types
of 3-D anti-Axis items that can be found from World War II. The tag line for each item will provide a brief identification. This
is not an all-inclusive list but rather a sampling to give understanding to this facet of collectibles from the war.

Smoking was another activity that has since declined in popularity since World War II. In light
of the popularity of smoking, ashtrays were commonly used as propaganda sources with messages such as "Jam your Butts on this..."
Rat, Vulture and Skunk as seen in this Burn the Axis glass set of ashtrays. Several other formats of ashtrays existed
as well made from several types of material.
