Dietary Consultations
Healing through proper nutrition is an integral part of Chinese Medicine
and natural healing. There is an entire system of food cures available in Oriental medicine. This system
of ancient knowledge equips us with tools to help or cure simple ailments like hangover or common cold as well as more
serious conditions like hypertension, diabetes, gastric ulcers and others.
Foods have five tastes (sweet, sour, bitter, pungent, salty), five energetic qualities (cold,
hot, warming, cooling, neutral), and four directions of moving our energy (upward, downward, inward and outward).
These energetic qualities of foods act on our individual constitution and particular symptoms and conditions.
Knowing the different energetic qualities of foods helps us establish an ideal dietary regimen for healing particular problems as
well as creating balance in our overall health.
Food is the medicine. Our dietary and social habits have
a direct impact on our health. They can make our symptoms and quality of our life better or worse. Western medicine,
as a whole, has been slow to support the importance of food in healing but now it is from the research initiated
by certain western medical researchers that has validated what traditional healing systems, including Chinese Medicine,
has been saying for thousands of years. For example, modern scientific research has found a direct connection
between brest cancer and consumption of milk. Dairy products also adversly affect conditions like: acne, sinucitis,
some allergies, tumors or cysts in any area of the body. The destructive effects of sugar and simple carbohydrates on many
systems of the body including immunity, digestion and the nervous system are now widely accepted throughout the western medical
community.
In our practice, we share with patients our knowledge in
Macrobiotics and other carefully selected dietary regimens to support and enchance healing.
CranioSacral Therapy
CranioSacral Therapy applies gentle, non-invasive pressure to the craniosacral system.
This system extends from the bones composing the head (cranium) to the sacrum and coccyx that form the tail end of the spine.
At the center of this system is Cerebro-Spinal Fluid. This fluid circulates rhytmically throughout the system and
essentially is the blood of the central nervous system. The practitioner works with this rhythm and balances it's
motion through gentle contact to different strategic areas on the body. Craniosacral therapy can treat a variety
of acute and chronic neuromusculoskeletal complaints.
Neuromodulation
Neuromodulation is a safe and pain free bioenergetic technique that
uses a unique method of muscle testing to access the Autonomic Nervous System. Any patient can easily participate in
it. The practitioner uses verbal questions, corrective commands, breathing patterns and tapping along the spine which produce
observable changes in most patients.
Neuromodulation technique is used to assist those who suffer
from chronic and recurring conditions caused by a poorly functioning immune system. For example this method is
often used to provide relief from the symptoms of allergies, fibromyalgia, arthritis, EBV, lyme disease and other
immune related illness.
Patients who failed to benefit from conventional or alternative therapies,
may experiance marked improvement in their symptoms within 3-15 treatments.
