How to Host a Coffee Hour
- Purchase baked goods, fruit, cheese, crackers, half and half, and juice. (The choice is yours; everything is optional.)
- Arrive ½ hour before service time.
- Place paper table cloth on tables.*
- Warm up coffee maker and put tea kettles on.*
- Put tea bags in two carafes (three bags per carafe.)
- Put food on plates or in baskets and cover with plastic wrap or napkins.
- Pour half and half in creamers, cover with plastic wrap, and put in fridge.
- Put sugar, Sweet and Low, coffee and juice cups, stirrers, and napkins on the tables.*
- Make coffee and turn off tea kettles
- Attend the service and come down to the parish hall after receiving communion.
- Reheat water in kettles.
- Pour hot water in carafes with the tea bags.
- Put coffee dispenser, food, juice, and half and half on tables.
- Make a second pot of coffee and leave it on the warmer for the second service.
Tidy up but please leave leftover food for the next service.
- After the second coffee hour, clean up will be taken care of by our sexton, Carlos Marquina.
* Carlos may take care of some of these tasks before you arrive.
