The Hidden Rainbow

I think summer ranks number one for people's favorite season.
Something about the way the wind blows, the fashion trends, the crowded beaches, and warm sand makes everybody just want to smile. :)
You know why? It's just a gorgeous day and so full of possibilities.
It's not every day that you get to have a beautiful day filled with excitement. This is only a packaged deal with summer.
Pools are opening, Kohls sells beautiful bathing suits, there are so many awesome sales, and school is finally out.
That's probably every kid's favorite thing about summer.
   No school.
But there's more to summer then no school. It's a time to really see God's creation.
Don't get me wrong, you can see God's creation all the time, but something about summer makes you just want to stare into the sky and watch the twinkling stars shine so beautifully.
Life should be like a summer's day. Living every day to it's fullest and praising God all the time.
That would be awesome if 'every day summer' was like that. But of course, it's not. We live in a sinful world. And sometimes we just want to question God why He gives such beautiful days when we feel so down and there's a sinful world out there.

Do you remember Noah's Ark? The story that we will never forget about the Great Flood? Remember how Noah had to stay 40 days and 40 nights on that wooden ark full of two or every kind of animal? I'm sure it smelled awful in the ark. I mean, when I go to the zoo, I can't stand two minutes in the monkey house, let alone 40 days and 40 nights with them!

Noah must have felt some days that the rain would never end. That the animals were never going to be totally silent, even at night. He must've felt that even with his whole family, that he was getting sick of the water and constant motion.
Then God let the rain stop. Do you remember what happened when the rain slowly drained away and Noah could come out of the ark onto dry land? God sent a
rainbow, which was full of promises.
That's how a summer's day is with us. Even with the sinful world all around us, there's that hidden rainbow called a summer's day.
A day full of promises that even in your darkest hours, or days, God's there and He's going to send you a hidden rainbow to remind you that He's still caring, and He's still in control.
