Personal Income tax will not solve chronic school tax woes

            What is PIT????? A personal income tax.

      This is the way that the school boards of Stroudsburg and Mt
Pocono have come up with to give us Property Tax relief. Do you believe this?????   I for one do not. But Thanks to ACT-1 this is what we get.

I pay about xxx in property tax now what this is going
to do is increase your taxes. How you say????

      Well let's look at the math. If you vote for an allowed of 1.6% PTI (personal IncomeTax) In Mt Pocono or thwe proposed 1.5 % in The Stroudsburg School District Your taxes will not Decreas but increas based upon how much you earn .For Example you Live in The Mt. Pocono School District and your  combined income totals about 89,000 you will be taxed an additional $1,500.
Then subtract the so-called tax relief of $600 that is equal to an increaseof $900 increas. I do not call this a tax break!!!!

      I call it Smoke and Mirrors. It's just the States way to shun their responsability and shut up the tax payer.How?? By placing the burden of Tax increases upon the School Districts and not on State goverment where it belongs.

As voters. You!!! Have the power to stop this rampant rise in taxes.

Voters of the Stroudsburg and Mt Pocono School districts,

This is not tax relief but a way to quietly squeeze more taxes out of your pocket. I say we can not let this happen and on May ,2007 voting day   VOTENO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. We have a voice and I for one will not let this happen. We need to put forth a united front and say enough is enough.

     What is really needed is True Property Tax Relief, Not (Smoke and Mirrors) and a substantial increase of State funding for the fastest growing School Districts in Monroe County and the State

  I Left New Jersey to get away from Greed,Corruption and High Taxes only to find the same thing here In Eastern PA

     It is time that the legislature take up this hot issue and fix the
problem.The best way to do this is to increase the sales tax by 1% so every one pays there fair share and to fund the two school districts mentioned above with more funding so the property tax payers can get real rate relief.

Update.---- as of this writing I have found out that all I will be getting in a tax relife check or credit is $200. nothing more.I will realize a tax increas of almost $1980 with the 1.6% PIT....

What are they Trying to sell the Property Tax Payers.This is not good for us.

Act-1 What is it?

It is the States way of Passing the BUCK. The School Funding BUCK to the tax payers of The Pocono Mountainand the Stroudsburg SchoolDistricts to RAISE your Taxes .Discusied as a tax relief program.

How can they say that?

Well lets look at it.

The state still views this area as a resort area. As we all know this is not the case. Act 1 is the states way of washing their hands of the school funding problem and in the end at election time state to the voters "You see we did not raise your taxes the local school boards did. go complain to them". We had nothing to do with it. To this end they would be correct..We as Tax payers can not let this happen We need to say "Stop enough is enough!!!!!!!

What is needed now is for the tax payer to unite and work for real reform amd Property Tax Rlief.
