Monday, November 2
- Do bulleted summaries for chapters 11-13 in TATS: at least 3 bullets per chapter. Due Wednesday.
Tuesday, November 3
- Enjoy your day off from school, but be sure to have your TATS chapter summaries done for tomorrow.
Wednesday, November 4
- Spelling sentences are due on Friday. Combine two or more spelling words per sentence, but 1) use all the words
correctly, 2) spell the words correctly, and 3) be sure the sentences make sense. This is worth two homework grades.
Spelling words will be uploaded on this site no later than today at 3 p.m.
- English extra help is tomorrow until 3 p.m. Work on anything you need to do, or just stay and read.
Thursday, November 5
- Spelling assignment is due tomorrow, and is worth two homework grades. See assignment above.

Week of October 26, 2009
Monday, October 26
- Last week students received information regarding an eighth grade trip to New York City in April 2010. Although payments
are not due until the end of November, the slip at the bottom of the form is due back to the eighth grade team by Wednesday,
10/28. Thanks very much for your cooperation.
- Enrichment journals are due this coming Friday, 10/30.
- Book reviews (brochures) are due in class tomorrow. See the Handouts section of this website for specific
directions.
Tuesday, October 27
- Field trip slips are due in school tomorrow.
- Thank you letters to Friday's guest speaker, Gary, are due on Thursday, 10/29. Be sure to follow the letter
format you were given at the beginning of this year. Please use your school address as the return address. An inside
address is not necessary for this letter. Include a salutation, the body of the letter and a closing. Be specific in
your thanks: some things to consider including in your letter follow: What did you learn from his presentation?
What will you most remember? Will his talk influence decisions you make in years to come? Explain. Can you connect
with any experiences he spoke about? Be genuine and grateful. The letter is worth two homework grades.

- The new online challenge is this: Recently, a bear in Hayward entered a grocery store. Please answer
these questions by visiting and recording the three news websites that help you with the challenge:
1. In what state did this occur?
2. On what date did this event occur?
3. What is humorous about this story?
Please learn from mistakes you may have made in the other online challenges. Answer all the questions carefully and
fully. Be sure to include three appropriate websites. This is due on Friday, 10/30, and is worth two homework grades.
