Welcome to my class!
- and to my "Bellydance World"
Liesa & the Masouda Dance Ensemble
- a world of creativity, energy, fun, learning skills, & more!
My goal is to share with you the beautiful and ancient art of
"Raks Sharki" - Dance of the East.
Americans call this "Belly Dance",
but there are other commonly used terms around the world:
Raks Sharki, Danse Orientale,
Beledi (of the country, of the people) Dance.

Masouda Dance Ensemble
Mission Statement:
To promote the art of Belly Dance with entertainment, education,
and enlivenment
Masouda Dance Ensemble: Benefit dance 6/19/09 at
CC fairgrounds grandstand main stage at the Relay
for Life American Cancer Society fundraiser-a wonderful free event w/loads of entertainment,
fun, & a great cause!! It was a magical night.

I currently offer classes at three locations in Plattsburgh, NY.
Class dates & locations are listed in table at bottom of the page.
The classes at Premier Body Center and at Clinton Community College are Multilevel Classes.
This means that all levels from beginner to advanced are welcome at my classes
at those locations. My teaching style allows me to give you attention whether you are learning the basics or refining your
technique. I use a variety of teaching tools to acheive that goal.
Class consists of:
1.warm up
2.body isolations
3.steps & movements
4.dance drills & routines (choreography & improvisation building)
5.cool down.
I also bring in DVDs, costumes, books, etc. from time to time to show you.
At each section, I give the beginners the basics, while I give those with
more experience "extras", such as layered movements, arm positions, muscle control, turns, zills, etc. over the basics.

I have produced 26 semiannual dance recitals (with no plans to stop!),
spring & fall, in the beautiful Clinton Community College Stafford Theater
Plattsburgh, NY. Fall 09 is #27! No one is required to perform; I have many
students who enjoy Bellydance class for a multitude of benefits such as fun, fitness, camaraderie, stress release, etc., and
choose to not perform in recital. This class is for YOU - there are no tests! and I sincerely want you to get the most out
of it to suit your needs.

I am the director of The Masouda World Dance Ensemble, est. 1993.
The Ensemble is known for its dynamic style with authentic and colorful costumes set to the
enchanting sounds of both traditional and world/ fusion ethnic music. Masouda is an Arabic word meaning happy, lucky,
fortunate. The Ensemble feels fortunate to share the joy of dance.
The Masouda Dance Ensemble is available for dance shows, festivals, theatrical productions,
bellygrams for all festive occasions, educational seminars, lectures, demonstrations, & celebrations.
