Middle
School Flute Camp:
Middle School Camp will take place from July 13-17, 2009 from 9am
to noon daily. This will be a great opportunity to learn technique and work on tone production. This camp is ideal for students
that have studied the flute at school or with a private flute teacher for 1-3 years.
Each student
will have the opportunity to work on a solo piece or movement of their choosing as well as a piece that has been chosen for
the group. Part of each day will also be spent on ensemble practice and learning to blend sounds with other flutists.
High
School Flute Camp:
High School Camp will take place from July 27-31, 2009 from 9am
to noon daily. We will be focusing on more advanced techniques as well as tone production. This session of camp is ideal
for students that have studied flute at school or with a private flute teacher for 3 or more years.
The
repertoire for the High School camp will consist of next year's District Band audition piece, and each student should prepare
a solo piece or movement of their choosing. Time each day will also be spent on ensemble performance.
Both camps will close with a final concert where all of the young flutists
will show what they have learned!
