Welcome to the Cottage Lane, Tappan Zee and W. O. Schaefer Elementary School Libraries where
the joy of reading and the pursuit of lifelong learning are celebrated. Library and research skills are taught within
curriculum related topics. Literature genres and exemplary children's authors are emphasized.
Our primary goal is to teach children that the
library is an exciting place to learn, imagine and grow. We strive to help children become independent users of the
library, so that they will know how to locate information easily. It is our hope that children will take their new found
knowledge; apply it, be creative, synthesize and analyze - and then make new knowledge for themselves.
