Non-Fiction
books are shelved according to the subject of the book. Melville Dewey assigned a "dewey decimal number" to every subject.
This "dewey decimal number," along with the first three letters of the last name of the author is the call number of the book. A
call number is the book's address in the Library. Non-fiction books are shelved in dewey number order.
