The residents of our District come from many ethnic groups that emigrated here during the industrial revolution of the later part of the 19th into the 20th century to earn a living working in the steel mills and coal mines throughout our area. They settled in local neighborhoods and formed the municpal governments of the District.
With the demise of the steel industry in the 1980s, these people worked to bring re-vitalization to their communities by attracting new businesses to take the place of the former steel and coal industries.
They are a proud people, always working hard, to make a better life for themselves and their children. Information about these communities in our District: |
