This is a position great for newborns and babies that have yet to develop their head control.
Some babies don't like this hold too much, my son was one of them. If this is the case then you can use the Tummy to Tummy hold for your little one; there's nothing wrong with having a newborn in an upright position as long as the fabric is pulled
up over their head. I must also admit that this is the position that I am least experienced with.
To begin, put the sling on as you would normally and make a pouch by bringing the bottom of
the sling up next to your chest.

Decide which direction you want to lay your child in the sling. You may either put their head
on the ring side or on the opposite side - whichever you and your baby are more comfortable with. While cradling your baby,
slide them into the sling (if they seem to be "lost" or "swimming" in the sling then you can place a receiving blanket underneath
your baby).

After you have your baby in the sling go ahead and adjust the sling by pulling on the tail
so your baby is snug against you. Now your baby should be comfortably laying in the sling.
