Nestled between the shores of the Chesapeake Bay and the magnificent Choptank River, Tilghman Island is situated on the tip of the Bay Hundred Peninsula of what is now Talbot County, Maryland. Vacationing on this Chesapeake Bay Island is nothing new. In the 1800's, when this waterman's home was built, visitors arrived by steamboat to enjoy the laid back life and the local seafood. The Tilghman Island packing house flourished, and the waters were filled with fishing, oyster, and crabbing boats.

We had a good sail with a stiff wind out, 12+ knots... heeling over alot added to the fun. Anita was a bit concerned but enjoyed it and the champagne... or was it because of the champagne?
the sunset had some great colors.

..."A restored 1935 sailing yacht Skippered by Capt. Chris Richards of Tilghman Island Md. A great sailing experience, Champagne sunset sails," ... "ready about... "

Oxford, Maryland,
"was officially founded in 1694, making it one of Maryland's oldest towns.  Oxford is located near the mouth of the Tred Avon River and served as one of only two ports of entry for British trade vessels in Colonial times.  Oxford flourished in this capacity until the Revolutionary War brought an end to British trade.   The town declined for many years until oystering businesses began to flourish in the late 1800's.  Today, Oxford is a quiet town that is enjoyed by visitors who appreciate it's history and charm."
from Bay web site

We had a fine day in this small bay town visited a mystery book shop, walked through the small cemetery to find a local Rev. War Hero... Tilghman, met locals at a bar, explored their small history museum, found their best ice cream and handmade chocolates run by an local woman (who gave Chuck her pickle to taste) and met her imported Scottish husband who makes over 600 favors of ice cream...

Anita liked the peach.  We had some and enjoyed the town park over looking the bay.
