own little petting zoo located on a farm in beautiful Northeastern Pennsylvania. Here we have sheep, goats,
alpacas, rabbits, Russian Tortoises, miniature pot belly pigs, fancy cockatiels, parrotlets, a rainbow lory, dogs, cats, miniature
horses,a miniature donkey, a pony and several horses, mostly Paso Finos. Some of the animals have come to the Ark
from rescue situations.
Residents of the Ark love when they get visitors. You can pet and feed them as you interact
in their environment. Smaller children can take a ride on a mini. If you are too big for the mini you can ride the pony,Dee,or
Hope, a Belgium/Standardbred cross as gentle as she is big. Please call ahead if you would like to schedule a visit.

It's Hinny time here at Gentle Reins. A baby boy born to mini donkey, Venus with the
sire being JFF Lil Indian Chief, a mini horse, thus giving us a hinny. Jasper is full of life and such a lover. Soft as a
teddy bear.
Born May 17, 2009 at 10 pm and jumping and kicking within minutes.

Trinca came to us when she was less than 24 hours old. That meant lots of bottle feeding so she was a house lamb, living in
diapers until she was done bottle feeding. Her name is Spanish for triplet as she was one of three lambs that her mom had
and mom could not take care of all three so we raised Trinca and she is a favorite of all.
Little lambs need lots of sleep and Trinca loved
to play and sleep with her friend, Dino.
Petunia, a miniature pot bellied pig became the
newest member of our family on July 8, 2008. She is 6 months old and was adopted from the Plain and Fancy Animal Rescue located
in Denver, PA. Congrats to them for all the animals they find new homes for.
Petunia checked out the fence line to make
sure she was safe and secure in her new home.
Petunia now has a little sister. Meet Nassy. She
arrived a day after Petunia and will call the Ark her new home. She is 8 weeks old and also a miniature pot bellied pig, just
like Petunia.
The grazing here at The Ark is pretty good, isn't
it?
These cockatiels joined the Ark on Sept 9, 2008.
This is Tequila Sunrise, a Lutino male that lives with JJ (Janis Pearl Joplin), a Cinnamon Pearl female.

Sandy is a 2 yr old Rainbow Lory that I traded the 5 cockatiel babies for at our local
pet shop. She is very friendly and loves to be out of her cage and explore.
Chance has been very good for Copper, teaching her to share for the first time in
her life. They are best buds already.

It's nap time and here's Trinca with her surragate
mom, Reese, a 3 year old Black Lab. Unfortunately, Reese was struck with Lymes' disease and has passed on. She is still sorely
missed.
I'm getting to be a big girl now and living outdoors in the front yard with my best friend Mystic
Mystic came to us when she was three weeks old
and Trinca was afraid of her at first. Guess she was only used to seeing white sheep! She soon overcame her fear and they
became best friends.
We have very curious critters here at the Ark as
you can see. The alpacas in the background had to see what new animal was added and Blizzard, a retired racing Greyhound,
welcomed Petunia.
It's been a long day and time to take to the crate
for the night.
If I whisper in your ear will you follow me anywhere?
Petunia and Nassy teach Copper to root in the ground.
Sage and Thyme, Cookie and Oreo with their
new two room insulated condo complete with heating.
Morning Dawn is a sweet Lutino female. I can't
wait for her to get used to her surroundings here and socialize with me.
Evening Dusk, a Pied/Lutino male, mate of Morning
Dawn.
A purebred White German Shepherd joined the ark on April 13. She is 7 months old and
is a rescue pup. Very intellegent, loving girl that is much more comfortable around women than men at this time due to the
abuse she was dealt by the hand of a man. Her new name is "Chance" and after only 3 days she knows it. She gets along with
all the critters which is a must for her to remain here. Right now she is very skinny from only receiving table scraps,
when there were any. Here she is eating good puppy chow so I look forward to watching her gain weight and look better. Her
tail was also broken badly somehow but it is healed and is not painful to her.
