December 15, 2008 Venus had a pregnancy test
today
December 30, 2008 Got the call from Dr.
Sheila Cashen that Venus is
definitely pregnant. Yahooooooooooooo
Keep checking back for more pics and updates until the
big day.
January 7, 2009 Venus got her shot of
Fort Dodge Pneumabort K today used in pregnant mares as an aid in the prevention of abortion due
to EHV 1 infections. She will get another one in March and May.

MARCH 9, 2009 Second Fort Dodge Pneumobort K shot given
MARCH 23, 2009 Front and rear view of belly continuing to
grow but no signs of udder bagging up. Venus loves her daily belly hugs.

"The time has come, the walrus said"....and Venus is so relieved and proud to introduce
her 4th son, Jasper born at 10 pm. Chief continues to throw good babies.

Los Parejo Canela
17 yr old Paso Fino Mare that joined Gentle Reins Ranch on April 23, 2009.
Electra El Prim, 20 yr old Paso Fino Mare on the left and Los Parejo Canela
on the right. Electra's barn name is Betty Boop and Canela's barn name is Suzie.
Brokat, aka Little Rock, arrived on Cinco de Mayo from the same herd as Betty Boop
and Suzie. He is a 4 yr old stallion, his growth badly stunted from what I believe to be malnourishment. Hopefully we will
get him filled out here and he will grow somewhat taller. Right now he is about 6 inches shorter than my 2 yr old gelding
paso, Mac.
Here you can see the height of my 2 yr old gelding on this side of the stalls.
Mac and Little Rock getting acquainted over the stalls. I put Little Rock in a different
stall for the night until they get more acquainted and I can trust them next to each other.
