Introduction
Protecting the privacy
of individuals who attend, visit or contact Lower Providence Baptist Church (hereinafter LPBC) is important
to both the members thereof and to the non-members who contact the church for personal reasons. We, the LPBC membership, provide
the following statements to help you understand how we collect, use and safeguard the personal information which you provide
to us.
Information Collection and Correction
1. LPBC will collect information from members of the church, from visitors to the church and
from queries or other communications received at the church by way of email, telephone or US mail. LPBC is the sole owner
of the information collected by these means. We reserve the right to share this information with our membership in order to
accomplish the purpose of the contact. The information collected by LPBC may include any or all of the following, but only
if voluntarily provided to us:
Name and US mailing address.
Email address, if applicable.
Personal data, such as date of birth, marital status, etc.
Names of family members, date of birth, etc.
2. Disclaimers
a. No personal data will be collected from visitors to our website. The only data that may come
into our hands is that which the website visitor voluntarily provides to us via US mail or email.
b. Sensitive personal data such as social security numbers, bank account numbers, military service
numbers, and specific geographic location of deployed military personnel will not be asked for, collected nor retained by
LPBC.
3. Correction of Personal Data
The individual realizing that there is an error in his/her personal data as held by LPBC is
enjoined to immediately notify the church either by email, US mail or telephone of such error. This notification should identify
the location of the error, what the error is and what the correction for that error is.
Information Use
The information collected by LPBC will be used internally as follows:
1. Members info: Included in an annual directory, membership lists of active and inactive members,
lists of church officers and members of boards, annual church report, Deacons contact list, business meeting minutes, records
of board meetings, etc.
2. Visitors info: Used by the pastor to contact the visitor for purposes of follow up to their
visit.
3. Prayer requests: Used by the Prayer Circle to pray for the specified person and purpose.
Also, included on weekly/monthly written prayer lists.
4. Queries info: Used by the pastor or a designated church member to answer an individual's
query, then destroyed.
5. Chaplains info: Used to maintain contact with each chaplain who has requested our support.
Designated members of the congregation will serve as points of contact for this purpose.
6. Cemetery records: Names of owners of cemetery plots will be maintained strictly for that
purpose. Records of burials will be maintained for the convenience of identifying the individuals buried in the cemetery in
the event of loss, destruction or weathering of the applicable gravestone.
Information Dissemination
LPBC will not sell, share, or rent personal information to others who are not members of LPBC.
For members of LPBC, the information may be shared as identified above under Information Use. Finally, personal data (other
than first and last name) of church members, originators of queries, chaplains, and cemetery records shall not be posted or
displayed within the church facilities nor made available to non-church members.
