In December, 1999, the Rhode Island
Summer Hockey League, under the direction of Don Armstrong, made
a commitment to the Coaches Association to donate $1,000.00
each year for five years, to the Scholarship Fund.
Since then, the Rhode Island Summer Hockey League has increased
its donation to $1,500.00 per year and has earmarked some of
that money to go to qualified applicants from the Girls Divisions.
The Summer League's generosity constitutes an affirmation
of
their cooperation with the Coaches Association to acknowledge
Rhode Island high school hockey players for;

and fair sportsmanship,

decision to be active citizens of the
school community, and for
~their
decision to advance their education! |
